Flying - Learn a lesson from ffxiv

Ffxiv does flying perfectly. You do the main story through the zone (about 20 quests) while going around the zone use an item to help find 10 “aether currents” (things you click on) and do like 5 side quests.

You now experienced the zone and can now fly in that zone.

Easy.
Simple.
Satisfying.

i prefer flying in Eve Online myself tbh…

yeah that is an incredible system. and you feel rewarded once you get it. and then uncovering the rest of the map… i love it so much.

Pathfinder is essentially the same concept. Blizzard just totally ruined it by arbitrarily holding it back until the zones it unlocks flight for are mostly irrelevant. Get rid of the extra time gate and it’d at least be a reasonable comparison to what FFXIV does.

(Flight in SL is the same as the typical pathfinder. Maybe slightly easier, but the timing and restrictions are still purposefully malicious)

whereas pathfinder took weeks and months. it takes but 2 hours in ffxiv

This mostly works in FF because the zones are separated by loading screens anyway.

I can’t imagine them trying to do this in WoW, unless you’re asking to continue the SL world design of a bunch of little islands divided by loading screens.

in shadowlands the 4 zones are separated by loading screens too. only theyre hidden behind a less than cool space time continuum “flight path”

That…is literally what I said in my last sentence. I’m not sure what your point is…did you read the first line of my post and hit reply?

yes. i do that a lot. dont judge

I will judge you if you can’t read a whole two sentences. Sorry.
