Flying in War Within

I’m not going to whine about flying (I totally am, spoiler alert) because I first started playing WoW in 2007 and have seen the progression of it all, good and bad.

I just resubscribed after about a 2 year hiatus, give or take. I last played “for real” during Shadowlands, and had pretty much did everything I cared to in it, and cancelled my sub. Then came back for a brief moment during Dragonflight, and absolutely hated it. Now I’m back to check out War Within.

So.

What I am going to whine about is twofold:

  1. I despise Dragon flying, or whatever it’s called. Do not force your players to use this garbage mechanic or they’ll cancel their subs. Promise. I’ve seen me do it.
  2. If you’re going to require an achievement to unlock flying, cool. That’s fine. Maybe…I dunno…explain better how to do it? Maybe don’t make it a year’s worth of questing? Maybe literally anything other than how it’s set up currently.

I agree, was very annoyed at the inability to hover. I will say that Dragon riding isnt too bad once tou get the hang of it though. If you are using the default keybindings, ignore “1”, its not worth the 3 charge cost. Its pretty braindead easy to fly straight and hit “4” to boost up. Forward bost isnt worth it cause you gain more charge from going downhill. The recharge ability whenever you can more charge. Thats pretty much it.
