Flying in DF sounds awful

wow , here we have a perfect example of the " I want it all , I want it NOW" crowd . A week is nothing , If you dont get anything for a couple of months then you may be entitled to curse your luck , but a week …

The dracthyr racial is 5m, but it’s much shorter for the actual dragon mounts. Technically I don’t think the mount has any cooldown, but at 0 vigor it’s just a ground mount, so you might have to wait for vigor to recharge depending on where you want to go with it. Unless you’ve been fighting for the last couple minutes, because vigor keeps recharging when you’re dismounted and/or in combat.

But alpha maps already show flight masters on them too.

IDK if there’s any plans to extend the flightmaster’s whistle to the Dragon Isles, but there seem to be few if any outdoor spots where you can’t dragonride to a flight master, at least in the zones shown so far.

Sweet! Thanks for updating me. I’ve been pretty involved with Loremaster that I haven’t exactly kept up with the latest news.

So you prefer the AP system then?

With exception to druids and the Sky Golem, and specific to herbalism, the current flying isn’t compatible with gathering either. At least with the new flying it’s supposedly twice as fast from A to B. Which should make up for things?

You’ve never auto-followed a friend?

Don’t need to, I actually play the game - I don’t alt tab out

When fully upgraded it’ll be much, much faster than regular flight, meaning that it brings benefits and isn’t just a sidegrade. Seems reasonably simple to master too. Only real downside to me is that you can’t alt-tab out between arbitrary points (only flight points) but I rarely did that anyway.

This is too depressing… :frowning:

I didn’t say you couldn’t travel other ways, it’s just my understanding that there are some areas that are inaccessible without using flight. Like in Wrath.

Also, they said that this is one of the largest zones they’ve ever made and story is that DF flight can go up to 900% travel speed. So, later on, while you might well be able to use WoW flight, you simply won’t want to for long range travel.

Blizzard doesn’t know how to spend their income. We didn’t need this flashy flying at all :rofl::rofl:

I would rather have some better loot systems, deeper professions, old zones and gear being end game viable. They have I don’t even know how much of old equipment is just in game for nothing. 99% of profession recupere are completely useless in every profession but yea we need flashy flying :rofl::rofl:

Reserving judgement until I actually try it, but this just seems like Blizz trying to fix something that was never broken to begin with. Rather than just giving players what they want, they do this system and give it to us right away and claim they are listening and giving us what we want.

The problem with original flying is that it took no skill whatsoever. It was much faster than any flight master. You could AFK in the air safe not only from PvE but as well as World PvP.

Yes, they have more and more things placed in the air that can knock you down, they can even be avoided by flying at the right height. Now the term swimming in air has been used to describe current standard flying. I call it helicopter flying without the need for fuel.

Now Dragon Riding, is the 1st attempt really at changing that. You still have very unrealistic flying, but you do have some dynamics of it. Such as diving to pick up speed, losing it when you climb or fly level. The fact that dragon riding will be the fastest speed that will be ever offered in WoW as in flight where a player can cross a map in half the time that they can now. I don’t know what to really complain about. Yes, you cannot fly up high and go watch TV and come back 15 minutes later and still be hovering AFK. You run into something you’re going to go splat also. Which that will be funny as all hell to be honest.

So yes, you have to learn a new way to fly. But guess what, you can still giddy up and go ground mount around. But I really expect like in MoP, Cata and Wrath, there is going to be places you need your wings to get to.

As always

You made 0 sense with this post…

Yes, doing a little bit of needless busywork for 950% flying speed is so awful.

Their schtick is to be as contrarian as possible. It’s not just this thread.

And you would be wrong. Next!

In one of their Dragonflight reveal videos earlier in the year, they literally said that Dragonriding would be required to reach certain areas of the Dragon Isles. And the zones are definitely designed with the system in mind. Your dragon is essentially going to be your constant companion since they will be the most effective way for you to get around.

I find it so strange that one of the things people are complaining about is not being able to AFK more efficiently. “A system that actually forces me to play and be engaged? That’s bad!”

Most people who’ve played it on the beta says it’s very fun, and hard to go back to regular flying, where you just point yourself in a direction and then alt-tab.

Also it’s absurdly faster than 310 speed flying, like 3 times faster, a the base level. So there’s that.

A friend of mine brought that up as well from an accessibility standpoint. There is a very small percentage of players who are blind, and rely on their friends/partner to fly them around. This can’t happen with dragonriding.

I’m hoping they add a 2 seater.
