Flying compromise

So imagine this.

Blizzard offers a compromise on those who want old fashion flying.

However there is a few stipulations.

Stipulation 1: You have to be level 70 to unlock it.

Stipulation 2: It’s unlocked per character not per account.

Stipulation 3: It is purchased with a WoW token. Maying it either $20 irl money or however much a wow token is going for in gold at the time.

How would the old school fliers feel about this compromise?

How would the dragon riding flyers feel about this?

Or how about no compromise? It was fine like it was.

And no to real life money. Keep that in mobile games.

Is it?

Alternatively a flat rate of 300k.

Just put it back how it was during the most popular periods of WoW’s history (purchase for a modest amount once you hit level cap).

I want both regular flying and Dragonriding both unlocked account-wide.

The “compromise” should be anyone who wants to unlock regular flying via gold at level cap per character, locks themselves out of account-wide regular flying for that expansion.

Pathfinder was the compromise. Let’s focus on trying to get blizzard to improve it rather than coming up with more compromises.

Hey we either do as usual and get NO flying at all for a few months before pathfinder.

Or we chill with fast as hell dragonriding from day 1.

Yeah.

I’m curious as to why some people don’t like the concept of dragon riding and want traditional flying this deperately to the point that they’re coming up with their own compromises.

Are people genuinely this afraid of something in the game that has physics based mechanics?

I think normal flying and Dragonriding can exist side by side without compromise as long as Dragonriding is faster.

Want to minmax the speed and have fun while traveling? Dragonride. Want to just alt tab and swim through the air? Normal flying.

I spent a great deal of time building up my characters and matching them to the perfect mounts for their image.
I hate the thought of being defaulted into a scalyboi, I’d be in for something to get me back to old mounts.

Congratulations you can now customize your scaly to fit your character! Enjoy.

I see we’re back to the old genre of “players” suggesting “compromises” on flight, aka givebacks. What a great way to pad Ion’s golden parachute, OP!

The “player” who started this thread sounds like part of the marketing department, trying to find a way to convince players who have visual or dexterity limitations to dramatically increase how much they pay for the game. Way to get around that pesky accessibility issue, Blizz!

I’m not saying I’m mad, but…

I mean we may as well. As long as the free way gets eventually released in the .2 or .1 patch. Stupid people and their money are easily parted.

Are you seriously denying that the people who have real problems with how this system is designed would have to pay a great deal of real money under this system in order to play their characters? What a fantastic reason not to buy the expansion at all!

No I am denying your idea that there are secret agents saying dumb things like that XD

Open your eyes. Many player “suggestions” are trial balloons. The concept of pathfinder, complete with all the basic framework and details, was first introduced to players in a post in the forums during wod by an unknown level 1 troll.
