Flying back to oribos when swapping zones

Why can we not directly fly from one zone to the other?

Thematically it wouldnt make sense. All souls filter through Oribos’s sorting hat before becoming Slitherin, Gryphondor, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

You can only get to those houses direct from Oribos through the Stargates. So while i understand the want, it makes thematic sense that someone cannot be go from 1 covenant area to another.

In theory, there is no connection between the realms. They each serve a different function. Oribos is the only place in the Shadowlands with a connection to all realms so it only makes sense (thematically anyway) to have to return to Oribos in order to use that connection. When it comes down to it, once you are placed into an afterlife you aren’t supposed to be able to just up and leave whenever you want so there had to be a restriction to prevent that from happening.

There is really no reason why these zones aren’t all connected TBH. Stupid decision to split them all up.

Its really not hard to figure out why they did this. The relams are seperate places in the shadowlands. Oribos has the gateway to the realms. Meaning you must go to oribos to get to a different realm. What cant you understand?

While I understand the lore reason, in game it just seems like it was just done to make it take longer to get to the zone your calling is in for that day. On top of that, seen several friends notice that if you log in your covenant sanctum and fly to a different zone as you go through Oribos, even though it’s only briefly, the game still at times stutters.

Yea there’s no reason other than blizz wanted it this way. But It’s fun to see people trying to justify it though with logic and lore.

You do realize we aren’t out in the live world right? So no. This would not make sense to have all of these 4 zones connected. Sounds like you ignored the lore this expansion and don’t seem like you understand this story or what’s going on.

The main problem here is that the flying mount itself also changes when switching zones.

My bat becomes an armoured ‘anima’ worm? Very suspect

I don’t actually care about that though because real live humans are still playing it. And it’s annoying. Pretty much my entire point.

Then how was Maldraxxus able to attack the Temple of Courage in Bastion without being seen passing through Oribos? (This happened early in the leveling campaign, so you’ve had plenty of time to see it.)

The joys of being a mage.

Probably with the help of the Jailor.

When I meant live world I meant WoW living world as in Azeroth. We are in the afterlife. So that is what I meant by no the zones should not be connected like how the “live aka Azeroth and the alive people” zones are.

I think of it more like the space between each zone is much farther out then what we perceive. The oribos gates have that “warp speed” effect which leads me to believe it just isn’t practical to get to the zones without it.

…oh.

…oh god.

Do Mages get portals for each Shadowlands zone?

It feels like it would be a technical limitation… or it could just be thematic like someone else suggested.

Set your hearth to Oribos, then you never have to fly that long. That’s what I did :woman_shrugging:

I’d have to fly even more frequently to go to my sanctum. :stuck_out_tongue:
