Flying - All or Nothing

Pathfinder in and of itself isn’t horrible; I don’t mind the grind too terribly much. What’s intolerable is the time gating and having to finish all the major content before being able to fly at all.

Make a Pathfinder for each zone, ie Zandalar/Kul Tiras, Nazjatar, and Mechagon and let us fly in those zones after completing them. The argument that having flying be a thing for alting actually kept me from playing alts. If I could have flown in Zandalar after finishing PF1, I’d have maintained my sub to work on alts instead of taking 9 months off.

Many people have two-seat mounts, you know. If I am grouping with someone who doesn’t have flying, I offer to give them a lift. Your example holds no water.

Thats exactly my problem too. It should be RELATIVELY quickly but not where people wil be flying a dozen days after hitting max level. Then people WILL get burned out.

I mean positive as in ADDING content.
Secondly, all that work you do…in that same time frame i can make more than enough gold pay for flight on my characters.
Pathfinder literally STOLE my game…how I LIKE to play… from me and FORCED a game I dont like to play on me.

People didn’t get burned out in wrath and we had flying at level 77. That notion is just plain wrong. Make good content and flying or not people will play it.

Blizzard has this raging hard on for no flying though, you know that. They are not going to create content with flying in mind anymore. It took a monumental effort to get them to not remove it entirely. So we have to be realistic. The reality is, a reasonable pathfinder timing and requirement.

Another reason people didnt get burned out was there was a genuinely awesome buildup to our final fight with Arthas. Azshara? Why should I care about her? She was mentioned once by Maiev in a frozen throne mission. We got some teases in the caverns of time dungeons and in Legion. She’s not compelling nor did we get any real time to know her.

To casuals it probably was a fortune. I know it took me a month almost to get BC’s flying price farmed. Wrath was a bit faster, yes. But the point is, its no longer a sink that buys Blizzard any time to develop more content before people complain they have nothing to do.

I’ll voice my opinion on flying and why it should be available right at max level or at least available as soon as pathfinder part 1 is done. Their reasoning is full of holes and runs counter to the majority opinion of the wow playerbase.

Why in the world did you think they wouldn’t have Pathfinder in the next expansion? this literally marks the point in which Pathfinder is going to be in the game longer than flight has been as a whole. :woman_shrugging:

There was no indication they are changing their minds on Pathfinder. And as long as they don’t stall out pathfinder super hard (like the 9 months this time around) I don’t think it’s going to be a problem this time around either.

The real problem with pathfinder has always been the time gate. The time gate just feels spiteful.

These ultimatums are ridiculous. And pointless.

Would we like to see some changes to Pathfinder? Absolutely. But advocating for no flying because you’re mad is like a little kid throwing a tantrum and does nothing to solve anything.

It is 100% spiteful and a carry over from being called out on the WoD flying deception. And to cover that truth, they add all sorts of extra “excuses” to their communication to us like the art work, take your time, enjoy leveling, don’t go too fast, we need to gate things, you use up content too quickly, etc… That is all after the fact made up jack.

If the dev team can’t get over that, it speaks to their very core character as people.

the problem with gold purchases is that the economy is so inflated nowadays they would be making it a ridiculous amount of gold to not trivialize the people with millions. I personally only have like 40k gold combined on my toons because I do not go out of my way to get gold at all and having to buy flying for my alts would just deplete that to 0. I much prefer pathfinder as it also lets you fly while leveling. However it is BS that you have to wait a year to fly.

That’s a fallacy. Flight licenses have always been cheap and the most expensive one was MoP at 2500g.

That was before we got mass amounts of gold in WoD and Legion. You are deluding yourself if you think after that it would be anything less than a token’s worth of gold at the minimum.

The only thing bad about pathfinder is the delay. PF should be completable by 9.1

I had more gold than I knew what to do with by cata. Flight license has always been roughly the amount of gold you make while leveling.

Or you could just quit if you are that annoyed with Pathfinder. I mean you know that after years of complaining about it here, it will still be in Shadowlands. Personally I think flight was one of the worst mistakes they made and I wish they have stuck to their guns are removed it liked planned back in WoD.

I give you half a heart. I agree about the first half, and disagree about the second. :stuck_out_tongue:

What if flying mounts needed fuel/food? You auto generate so much a day but you can also farm it and stock up on it. Fuel/food is = to flying time. It will last 30 seconds or 30 hours. If you run out of fuel/food then you’re grounded.
