Flow (2024)

Watched Flow on Max last night. Really good movie, apparently made on a super tight budget only using Blender (free opensource 3D modeling program). Had a really good message (told without a single word of dialogue) about working together to spite obvious differences, something I really think the world needs right now.

I do want to see this. My inlaws watched it and absolutely loved it.

It just won an Academy Award this past weekend. Which is nice.

That’s cool. Had no idea.

However, that’s because I stopped paying attention to the Academy Awards a very long time ago. I think it’s been like 20 years or so.

Oh god, yeah. I don’t care about them either, but some people… somewhere… still regard them with a little prestige. I guess? I dunno. I just happened to see it won because it came across my news feed. But it was a genuinely good movie so I am happy, kinda?

I love that you changed from “I guess” to “kinda”.

I would have never even heard of this movie if it weren’t for my inlaws.

But, from looking at the preview, I’m glad it won. Lol

I already used “i guess” so I try not to repeat myself too much.

But yeah. I just happen to see it on Max because I was just bored browsing for something to watch one night. My wife is a huge cat person so I knew she’d wanna see it. So we watched it together. Actually glad we did. It was very good. And no dialogue. Just animal sounds. It told a great story that most modern films couldn’t even come close.

Yeah, hubby and I are going to watch it this weekend.

I’m so glad to hear that you liked it. It’s one thing to hear reviews from family, but it’s good to have confirmation. Thank you.

Just watched it. I had to come back and report.

What an absolutely beautiful and amazing movie.

Yes…I cried. I’m not ashamed of admitting it.

That poor little kitty. Now I want to know what happened to all the people.

Oh… totally forgot to tell you…my cats could not take their eyes off the movie.

Did you watch the after credits?

Yes, that made me cry too.

I’m thinking that what happened to the bird happened to the whale…or everything flooded again. Either way…:crying_cat_face::crying_cat_face::crying_cat_face:

One of the things I liked the most about that movie is that there are -many- interpretations you can take and none of them are “wrong.” So my wife and I went with the most optimistic meaning of what that scene meant. :slightly_smiling_face:

Same.

Just the personalities of each animal. I can see why it won the award.

You can tell that this movie was made by someone who truly loves animals.

Definitely. I was saying before that I really don’t care about who wins what awards, but… if there has to be a winner, I am glad Flow won. Because it genuinely deserves praise.

Felt like a companion piece to the game Stray. The PS5 controller that purred when you slept freaked my cats out, to my delight.

As for Flow, highly recommend it to any pet owner. And yes, have the tissue box nearby. The Oscar win just proves that, like Godzilla: Minus One, real passionate human talent behind the lens cannot be matched. Budget be dam-er, darned!

Saw it and cried. Or was that just dust in my eyes.

Yeah, dust. Lol

My cats actually sat there and watched it as well.

Excellent movie and so glad it won.
