It’s been missing since the prepatch launched and the console command provider by Blizzard in their support section (/console floatingcombattextcombatdamage 1) does not work.
I’m messing with it to try and get it working. Just wanted to put it out there that it’s being weird for me, which means it probably is for someone else too.
Isn’t it /cvar instead of /console?
There is a toggle in the menu, under interface options in the combat tab.
Unless you’re talking about something else?
Tried it out of curiosity, got the error message to try /help.

I had the same problem you are facing, even the console command didnt help. I suddenly decided to look at the Interface/Addons tab and remembered that I was using this addon called ‘AdvancedInterfaceOptions’. There, I found this ‘Floating combat text’ option, and the dot/pet dmg were unchecked. Problem solved. Idk if you use this addon or not…hope this helps!

It’s all a mess, in addition all the addons are jacked up
So I had the same issue and used the console command and it worked is it maybe not working for you because certain words in that line are supposed to be capitalized?
