These start dropping from mobs on the 9th, right? I’ve done all the quests I can do for now. So, do I just wait, or what?
World quests don’t reward them?
They do. But once you’ve done them… what other source is there? Note, I don’t do rares, m+, or raid.
Well then you’re out of luck. M+ will be the best source to farm them.

No. They come from actual activities, not just regular random mobs.

Okay… so, all this upgradable green gear I just got is worthless, save for the three pieces I already upgraded?
i had about 2k from doing the quest and story missions
no not worthless they do help out loading the high ilvl gear out more from quest

That’s it? I said no rares. So, my only option is hoping to find chests, and then hoping they drop some?
Pretty sure Flightstones are dropping now for outdoor content not involving M+, Raid, and PvP. If you don’t want to do outdoor rare spawns, you might check if any World Quests reward them. Otherwise chests are likely your only option.

The only thing that changes on 9-May is that you can earn them from Raid and M+, which doesn’t apply for you. Maybe the WQs will change, but I feel like they already have–there used to be two weekly across from the Storm Surge NPC quest giver and now there’s only one but instead of doing a single dungeon and giving you a choice of rep, it’s requiring 5 heroic dungeons and giving rep + a 415 item. The new WQs are already out there it seems.

Imagine if these drop from mobs…2X4 groups farming these will be one option and that’s an issue, also if you don’t do instance activities this kind of slow progress will provide a path to upgrade your items for months before next patch.

Yes, if you refuse to do content that has those rewards you won’t get rewards.
Refusing to do rares farm is your decision, it’s the place to farm them outside of m+ and raid.

You casuals are getting ridiculous with this stuff. You don’t raid or M+, fine. Then you guys want like really good Open world content gear. And you drop that you don’t do rares? How hard is it to fly by one, tag it while it gets finished off? At some point this becomes a you problem and something not to be catered to.

Anyone do the math on how many of these one needs for all gear slots? to say 420 ilvl
It sounds like you’re looking for a corner of the map with quickly respawning trash mobs that you can farm for infinite stones…
