So, why do I no longer have Flightstones from Dragonflight? I have The War Within, but why did they take away my ability to have the old stones? I can’t make a high tier crafting piece now for a tailoring transmog, as I need 250 Flightstones to make it. FLightstones I can no longer loot! What the hell, man? Why would you take away an entire currency for me just because I outgrew it? How am I to make these things now, when I could easily just grab the stones I need…?!
I have dumped thousands of gold into doing this, too. Only to find out in the end, I can’t even do it. What a waste of gold and worse, time…

What are you trying to craft? doing a VERY quick search on wowhead im not seeing a single item where 250 flightstones is required to craft something.
Is it because it requires a spark or something? and to get a spark you need to combined shards with 250 stones?
There has to be a way to get a full spark without the combining right? Some kind of quest chain or something.
Can you link the item and perhaps we can assist you a little better

Yes, Sparks. Needing 2 splintered sparks and 250 stones. And as far as I can tell, there is no other way to do it. I’ve done all the quests when they were current, so I have no way to do any of that anymore.

It was pretty ridiculously stupid for them to screw us out of being able to craft things for transmog.
Yet another thing Blizz didn’t think through.

Have you used up all of your season 1 sparks?
I believe you could still get them during season 4 from doing season 1 activities. Those being
Soup
Grand Hunts
Dragonscale assault
Vault of the Incarnates.
Rares from Primalist Storms? (idk about this one).
You do have to do the questline to get them but if it is an alt you can skip the whole thing if you have already done it on another character.
I think you can still get season 2 sparks from season 2 activities as well. Those being
Researches Under Fire
Fyrakk Assaults
Aberrus
Dreamsurges?
Neither the season 1 nor season 2 sparks require flightstones to make.

I knew about the 1 time quest we all got to get 1 full spark, and OP said he did that one. you just quoted it actually

Would you care to elaborate? What machine? Where is it in the city? Does it cost anything? Does it still work in The War Within? You left only a crumb of information…

Sparks of Ingenuity were the sparks used in season 1 of dragonflight. You can still get them iirc but it requires you to do complete the questline that begins with the following quest

Once you have done the questline, completing season 1 related activities should give you the sparks up to a certain amount. I gave a list of the season 1 activities in an earlier post that was directed at you. If you have already done that questline on another character, your characters can skip the questline and get all of the sparks that you would normally get from that questline all at once. Which I believe is five. Well what you actually get is an item called ‘bottled essence’ that you use at the Engine of Innovation. Doing so gives you the spark.
Also included a list of season 2 actives that may give their sparks as well in the same post that listed the season 1 activities. As season 2 ones also do not require flightstones to make.

Im wondering the same thing, I need 250 flightstones to transform 2 “Splintered spark of dreams” into a Spark of Dreams. How can you do that in The War Within? Ive completed daily quest, elite mobs, world bosses, dungeons, etc. And I havent got a single Flightstone, Is there any way to trade the current stones (Valorstones) into Flightstones or something?

that is pretty weaksauce of blizz. they keep doing these weasely things to make people who don’t buy the new expansion right away suffer in the previous expansion’s content. last time it was disabling shadowlands lfg and lfr, now it’s this.
I don’t think flightstones drop till you reach max level 80. Then the campaign quests will reward flightstones even. World quests reward flightstones often.
They don’t reward flightstones but VALORstones so yeah,you can’t make those items in dragon flight pass season 2.
Is there a reason we can’t get flightstones anymore? Makes no sense. It’d be nice to upgrade old gear to unlock transmog appearances from the higher difficulties.
