Flightmaster is unavailable in Oribos for new heroes

Hi! I have a new account, so the characters are new too

Flightmaster to Oribos is unavailable on all my 70 lvl characters (converted after Panda remix), even though portals from the Storm/Orgri are available

Here is the situation:

  • I have a character that I recently went through the Shadowlands quest chains and visited all the existing regions with
  • I met DK in the capital and said “I’ve heard this story before” and skipped the intro inside the Maw
  • I got to Oribos, set up portals, and am offered a flight to Bastion. But I’ve done all this before

What do I need to do to open a flightmaster in Oribos? It can’t be that you have to go through a huge campaign by every alt

EDIT: In case someone finds this topic in a search

I was able to find a solution. It’s extremely odd and non-obvious, but it worked
All indications are that that’s the way it’s meant to be.

I can’t access to “The Threads of fate” quest
Every time I arrive in Oribos after skipping Maw, I automatically get the Stranger in an Even Stranger Land quest

You need to spend 10-15 minutes of your life and go through this disgustingly dull quest chain
When you get to the point of flying to Bastion you need to fly there and once there drop everything and fly back to Oribos with the help of the nearest flightmaster and voila! - The flighmaster in Oribos will be available and you can fly anywhere in the Shadowlands. Just kidding, not anywhere. Because Maw will be unavailable for some reason

  • Before that, you need to open at least one FP in all SL zones

Most likely to unlock access to Maw you need to complete the Bastion quest chains until they decide to send you back to Maw

You don’t. If you’re level 70, assuming you’ve done the covenant campaign before, you can talk to the threads of fate guy and skip to instantly selecting a covenant. Or if you really want to, you can do the SL intro normally.

The problem is if, like a wise person, you never did anything in SL. Now you are condemned to do a bunch of intro s— for every character that wants to visit for some random reason, even if you have the map toy.

For God’s sake the flightmasters in Oribos need to be up for every account now regardless of any previous activity or map toy. It’s as though Blizzard is trying to extract every last little drop of lousy from Shadowlands.

Yes, once, like the op said he did. TOF should skip it after that.

I did the minimum necessary in SL earlier this year on one toon to get Explorer, but I was unsubscribed during all of SL … I’d go back to do other things but damned if I’m going to do anything over and over again there.

I enjoyed SL but hated the first two campaign zones and skip the campaign myself if I want to roam around there. Ardenweald is one of my fave zones.

But I do wish they gave an option to skip the story earlier than 60/70. I just wanna enjoy the ambience.

Currently, I’m leveling a Belf Hunter with my husband, to unlock red elf eyes. Figured it was best to level in SL, since the unlock will be there, and I thought it best to unlock things, first before hitting Level 50. I was able to skip the Maw, but I still had to do the whole “welcome to Oribos”, to unlock the Oribos FP…then again, this is the second character I’ve taken through SL, so IDK if this means much. My 60 Days of Game Time ends on Sep 24. So, some time between the start of my 60 Days of Game Time until Sep 24, is when my husband and I wanted to level up a couple of Belf Hunters for the red elf eyes.

Were you level 60+ on the character you did this with? If not, Threads of Fate doesn’t get offered. Now… it’s possible it might have changed to 70+.

Or they fixed the “bug” and we can’t even get ToF to trigger anymore.

I haven’t tried since 11.0 hit.

It’s just a mixture of bugged and bad design for people who didn’t do the SL campaign.

Like I said, Blizzard is extracting every last little drop of misery from SL that it can.

I’m 70 right now (alts from remix)
No matter what I do, when I arrive in Oribos, I get a quest Stranger in an Even Stranger Land

Certainly is buggy.
one time I cant get the Threads of Fate crap to show up at all…but I just did a Remix alt and it worked this time. lol.

For those still trying to get to Maldraxxus at lvl 80 with no fp. You can take the M+ portal to bastion / ardeanweald and be able to fly there. I just did this no issue.

For a non-raiding lvl 80, there is no Bastion portal in the building.

Thank you!! I was trying to get to Ardenweald, and there were no quests when I took the portal to Oribos.
