There is a subset of people that want no flying. So give them such. A server with no flying at all, make the transfer free for the first month or so.
Then on normal servers either get rid of Pathfinder, or give it to us right away to farm out at the start of the expac. Make it harder if nessessary but at least just give it to us

Don’t want to fly? Don’t. Want to fly? Do pathfinder. Personally, I’d rather have zones built around flying but it doesn’t look like it’s in the cards.
The game doesn’t need a server for every special snowflake.

Yes. Everybody who posts on the forums that they’ve always hated flight and think introduction of flight ruined the game should have all their toons transferred immediately and irrevocably to a flight-free server.
I say force them to transfer for two weeks, and after that passes, anybody tired of it can come back.
They should take one of the dead servers and make it a no fly PvP server. Let the current residents have free transfers off to either another dead server or one that has some players on it.
Then allow anyone that wants to go to this server to transfer to it. Then it would be there for anyone who wants the retail world minus flight.
That would be Gankers paradise. Just camp their corpses and chase them down.

Haha right. I guess I only say enable PvP on it because one of the reasons typically sited by people who want flight removed is that it hurts world PvP.

PF isnt the end game. Its the means to the ends…which is flight removed just as Ion has wanted.
PF will be continually more annoying until players just stop caring about flight and they can remove it entirely.
That’ll be the first expansion I wont be purchasing since i started playing.
Pathfinder isn’t a compromise between Player Group A and Player Group B.
Pathfinder is a compromise between Blizz and the player base. It’s Blizz that doesn’t want us flying that quickly and wants us spending more time on the ground.

We can’t offer a separate server type, shard, or mode for every differing opinion that players have.
Pro-flyers need to accept that moving in a straight line from A to B while circumventing every conceivable obstacle cheapens the whole experience and downplays the world’s sense of scale.
Anti-flyers need to accept that travel can be extremely inconvenient without flying and people don’t care about navigating a landscape that they’ve already navigated a hundred times before.
Pathfinder is Blizzard’s compromise, like it or lump it. Everyone’s got their own opinion and they can’t please everyone simultaneously.
