How do I control what mount my character rides on flight paths?
Normally he’s just on a standard gryphon but there’s been 2 times he was on my uncorrupted void drake. What triggers that?
Can I choose which mount he uses all the time?
No, you can’t ask your taxi driver to change vehicles
Dalaran is the only flight path with variable mounts as far as I know. And those are controlled by your favorites. Otherwise, you’ll be riding a mount appropriate to the flightmaster you leave from.

This only works in Legion zones. Its a good idea that should be game wide.
Yeah, it was a nice touch. I think it’s just the Legion version of Dalaran, though. I don’t remember if the Wrath one did it too.

I was in Dalaran and just didn’t realize. Well dang, I was hoping I could pick my cool mounts to always ride on

You can’t. Some areas, like shadowlands for example, have unique mounts when you use the FP but you don’t get to choose.
If you fly from dalaran it will use a flying mount from your favourites list. That’s the only one though.
