I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I simply want to have the discussion. Firstly, I totally understand the reasoning for locking flights for each expansion and I don’t disagree with it personally, it extends gameplay by making you walk or use flight masters even though it may get tedious at times until you unlock flight through various achievements which force you to explore and take part of content Blizzard put their time into. However, to the people who did put in the time to get those privileges, how would you feel if Blizzard handed it out to players after a couple expansions passed? Draenor for example, two expansions and some years passed, if Blizzard came out tomorrow (Obviously not saying they are going to, simply theoretically) and said Draenor flight is unlocked to everyone, do you think you’d be upset about that given how long ago it was?
They already said it would be unlocked for everyone next expansion regardless of whether you have pathfinder in WoD, Legion, or BFA…do…your…research
BFA will still be locked behind Pathfinder. They are only unlocking WoD and Legion flying, although the Pathfinder achievements will still be required for the additional benefits associated with them (the WoD mount and the increased mount speed in the Broken Isles).
BFA will be added to that list, give it time 
Not until at least the expansion after Shadowlands. Brand new players will have to go through BFA, which is why they aren’t unlocking it for Shadowlands.

Personally I think that unlocking the current Pathfinder should have given you flying for all previous flyings, but kept the additional bonuses of the old Pathfinder (mount speed, mount model, etc) locked unless you did that particular Pathfinder.
Like many problems in this game, it wasn’t a problem until Blizzard made it a problem.

The advantage of getting flying when it was current content is long past, I agree just give people their wings. There’s tons of things to work for in old content, just let people fly and do it.
It would be more difficult to get pathfinder in non-current content. I’ve done all the pathfinders. I don’t mind making it easier for past expansions.
I had it much easier to get pathfinder in BFA because of the rep buff.
Yep this should have been the case since Legion, also not a single pathfinder should require you to farm ANY reps period, if I have to find a middle ground then honored should be enough.
Like others who have mentioned in this thread already, I’ve unlocked each pathfinder per expansion and while it was handy for the time, I can understand it being given to new players. And I’m 100% fine with that. It really does help in the long term. 
I’ve done all the PFs when they were current and I’m fine with handing it out for free now. Flying doesn’t need all these restrictions. There’s zero logical reason flying should be time gated for a year either.
I’ve literally just done Draenor PF like 30 mins ago and Legion a couple of weeks ago.
They’re easy now so it’s fine for them to give them away.

You can still get pathfinder, for the achievement/Skyterror mount, but you can fly in Draenor without it.
I found it worth it to get it in Legion (draenor one), on my Hunter. Once I found out about “medallion of the legion”, it was easy. 65 K gold, rep part of Pathfinder 2 so I got it; Discovered I was not far from exalted with Wrynn’s Vanguard, so 45 K for that (SO GLAD I DID, since they removed the ability to do that after I got it!)
I felt like that was cheap, during the gold “monty haul”, in Legion. The hardest part was the “jumping” puzzles, for the treasure requirement.
How would I feel? I’m OK with it. I got it WAY easier, since gold was more common then and there were so many “Medallion of the Legion” on the AH; So it would be kind of hard to do it that way now. Also, they’d have to legit do it in order to get the achievement/skyterror mount.
Oh, Draenor is STILL easy? Cool.
During Legion, it took my Hunter less than 2 weeks to casually go back and do Draenor Pathfinder. She had JUST started to farm saber dude rep, when she did more research and found out about “Medallion of the Legion” = LUCKY BREAK

I did the Loremaster thinking the rest would be hard. Then I realised there’s like medallions for 5k each. Hrm ok, 100k it is i thought.
