The irony is that there are a ton of druid players who (for some strange reason) want Flight Form to be steady flying only so that they can pick herbs or grab quest items without landing.
I mean I have absolutely zero idea what it would mean since I’m not a dev, but they obviously can’t exist as is for those classes so it may still affect those talent nodes depending on how they change things, even if it’s just wording/effect changes etc.
I agree. I love Soar and I want to use it all the time. The only reason I don’t is because it gets cancelled as soon as I land. If it just gave 100% move speed on the ground like any other mount I wouldn’t use anything else.
I don’t understand why people are so against this idea. It doesn’t affect anyone at all. It’s just a fun feature that should have been in the game from the beginning.
Part of the problem is that Dracthyr running really fast at mount speed looks stupid. You can see it in Throne of the Four Winds. Least I think that is the raid name. You get a buff that makes you fly (air swim for other races) and run really fast on the ground. Looks awful.
That said, could easily be mitigated by having Soar put you in a mount form that stayed in a mounted state, and just had you standing on the ground when you were standing still. When you moved it could just have you hovering over the ground. There are already animations for that. That would work for a mount form, wouldn’t negate the landing animations for Soar, and would give a decent animation for a ground mount speed.
Just combine Soar and Hover. Soar for flying and Hover as a ground mount version. The animations are all there, they could just either make an extra ability that uses Hover animation and works as a ground mount or make something like using Hover outside of combat hat no cooldown, infinite duration and moves at mount speed.
Its all stuff that has been done before, animations are all there, they only need to combine it all to make it work.
Been giving that as feedback since early Alpha, nothing happens cause screw Evoker.
There was an interview the other day where they talked about this, and they said they were currently just leaning towards increasing the cooldowns of the racials for all non-evokers.
Or maybe it was just increasing the cooldown and giving evokers a new passive that keeps the cooldown low.
Small difference but eh.
I think this is definitely the best move, like 3-5 minutes.
