This is not a complaint but really just a statement of clear and obvious facts.
We the players really have had enough. We have done everything required to be properly immersed.
We have, of course, done pathfinder part I. That was done months ago.
We have covered every square inch of the zones, many times. We have climbed the mountains, forded the streams. We have been underwater. We have been through the caves.
We leaped off cliffs and used the glider to get from point A to B.
We have been stuck by every twig. We have been blocked by every stump, rock or invisible wall. We have walked the long round about paths to get to the various world quests. World Quests we have done by the hundreds.
We have been immersed.
And talking of gliders. We already have gliders. We have the flight whistle. We have hearthstones. Is using a flight whistle to skip things really better than flying on your flying mount? Does that make any sense?
Blizzard, I get that you have a hatred of flight. I know there are some members of the team that wish it never existed. But it did and it does. And we want it back.
Please, relent.
Let us have flight now, in the current zones, with completion of pathfinder one. There will be a new zone and you can have your pathfinder part II for that. There is no purpose in withholding flight at this point.
Forget the fact that this will help you with your subscription. Imagine the excitement if flight was restored and the millions of new subs you would get! No, just give in to the reality that we have been properly immersed. And now it is time to throw your paying customers a bone and just let us fly.
Thank You Blizzard for your careful consideration of my proposal.
Have a great day.
Best Regards,
Rastlin

Ive tried hard not to be immersed.
I just finished Pathfinder yesterday from not caring about the game really.

I don’t remember Warlords and I wasn’t here for Legion, but were these “give me flight now” demands a daily thing then too?

Your random italics are really bothersome.

Yup.
And even better yet now that they’ve gone for three expansions using the pathfinder model it’s pretty difficult to argue that flight is the reason for sub loss like they all said back then…because you think Blizzard would have aborted it by now if they felt that was true.

Who is this “we” you are talking about. I happen to be fine with the current pardigm for flying. Between the flight whistle and how easy it is to get around on the ground I honestly haven’t missed flying in the new zones at all so far this XPac.

This entire persona is bothersome.

Speaking of flight since I got pathfinder part 1 a few weeks after the expac launched do I need to also do part 2 on the same toon or can I do part 2 on my new main and unlock flying??
Give it time. I’ll grow on you.

They’re not random, they’re used for emphasis on whatever specific words would be stressed were this to be read aloud. It’s actually quite well-written in that way.
I believe Yrag, as I haven’t “missed” flying, either. I don’t need it to get to places and I don’t need it to return from them. I like the zones and their layout, they’re not like Argus or Stormheim where they’re either choked with mobs for you to chain-pull or fraught with “verticality” so that to ride ten feet west you have to ride two hundred feet north, go up an embankment, ride around the back of a rise to the southwest, and finally ride all the way back around west just to find a mining mode or quest turn-in.
I actually don’t like flying at all for several reasons, even though it is cool and I’ve a lot of cool mounts that I’d feel bad if I could never ride them again in current content. So I think the model of enabling flying a couple patches in makes the most sense. About halfway through the life cycle of the expansion would be the best, I think, because then it’s fifty-fifty between flying and not flying, as fair as it can get.

I would love to have flight back just because I enjoy flying on mounts I’ve earned/bought over the years.
Since we don’t, the end result is a queue-based game for me that I rarely log into. Gathering, archaeology, pet battles, world quests, etc… anything that actually gets you out of the city and out into the world is made more tedious and less fun for me without flight. So I don’t bother.
Now I log in a couple times a week at best.
Can’t speak for everyone, but I’d imagine there are others out there that feel the same. The overall blandness of the expansion coupled with no flight making the non-queue stuff tedious has killed it for me.
If the wife hadn’t bought the boat mount I’d be lapsed again already.

This part i actually agree with. Flight whistle is pretty much instant transit kinda negating the boots on the ground experience.

That was a nice complaint. I hope blizz does something about it.

I think they’ve already said Pathfinder p2 will be coming around 8.2 or something like… which given we’ve only been in the game for 5 months, would be a fairly decent average length of time for it.

Millions of subs returning is a fantasy, I like pathfinder, it’s good to work for something in a game rather than it just be handed to you.
Also bolding of every third word really necessary?

Eh. I am OK with Blizzard’s compromise.
I am entirely in the Pro-Flight camp. I wish it were as it was before: “Buy Flight license at higher level”. BC and WOTLK had zones designed with Flight in mind. But Blizzard has been solidly Anti-Flight since WoD.
Pathfinder is a compromise. I am OK with it. At least they relented on flight. I can respect their spirit of compromise.
I just finished Pathfinder last week. I wasn’t in a rush. My goal was to do it before Part 2 is released. Goal met.

Flying needs to be permanently removed from the game.
