Flawless Torghast run please help

How do I achieve this?

Am I just too under geared?

Every run I clear all trash, rescue all souls, help all NPCs, avoid all traps, use empowerment when available, and usually avoid dying

And I still end up with 160-180 scores

The only thing I can think of is maybe I’m taking too long? I play Shadow, so I’m pretty slow

Any advice to help me improve? I just want to unlock adamant vaults for a shoulder transmog :frowning:

Edit: I’ve also tried unlocking it on my warlock who is demo, which makes Torghast laughable, and I STILL can’t seem to get a 200 score

I can’t give specific advice about shadow but I can give general advice - try to use empowered as you are about to kill a bunch of mobs, not at the start of the pull. Optimizing your empowered bonus could get you an extra 30-40 points. Try to go in knowing what bonuses you want to get - like pauper (no epic anima powers) etc.

Here is a list of the bonuses you can get from WoWhead:

Score Type Description Point Value
Annihilator Floor 5 boss killed in under 20 seconds
(Note: You CAN’T earn Executioner if you earn Annihilator) 20
Collector Collect at least 30 Anima Powers 10
Daredevil Defeat 2 Elites within 10 seconds of each other 10
Executioner Floor 5 boss killed in under 40 seconds 10
Highlander No duplicate Anima Powers 15
Hoarder Defeat the floor 5 boss with at least 500 Phantasma remaining 10
Hunter No elite enemies reached 4 stacks of Unnatural Power 15
Pauper No epic Anima Powers 10
Pillager 90% of Ashen Phylacteries destroyed 5
Plunderer Opened treasure chests 5
Reinforced Collect at least 5 Obleron Armaments of the same type
(Note: Picking Up Armaments x 2 or Armaments x 3 only counts ONCE!) 10
Rescuer Assisted a denizen of Torghast 10
Robber Robbed a Broker 5
Savior All Soul Remnants freed 10
Trapmaster No trap damage taken
(Note: Group-wide Requirement. IE. Anyone gets hit = No Bonus!) 10

Dont get epic powers.
Kill a broker(the vendor, use the orb)
Always end up with 500+ phantasma
Get 5 oblerion(oberion?) powers.
Always end up the run with 30 anima powers.
Those already lemme finish flawless runs plus what you are already doing.

More bonus points if you:
Kill elites before they get 4 stacks of their buff.
Kill the boss extremely fast if you can.
End up before the par time.

Yep. Kill everything. Don’t leave any mobs up. Destroy every pot. Save every soul (those lost souls or whatever). Pick the least powerful abilities (I think it’s common > uncommon > rare > epic?).

Don’t use any of the powers or buffs that you get, nor should anyone in your group use them (the ones that pop up in a box in the middle of your screen that act as as heroism / timewarp of sorts - don’t use those).

I find I can get around 230 to 260 a run easy just collecting as much as I can killing every mob I see and getting through it fast, I even use epic powers, which I will add makes it a lot easier to get under par time so even easier to get over 200 points.

Torghast is just a dps check now. They want to push you to gear up.

I did it once, accidentally, on my DH. Did it where I wasn’t “pushing” the difficulty, just wanted an easy run and just blasted through, don’t think I was ever out of combat.

I wasn’t able to repeat the “flawless” run again so I am not clear what I did “right”…

I did Flawless Master on my ilvl~220 Warlock. It’s just a matter of prioritizing specific things. Like killing 2 elites within 10 seconds, keeping 500 Phantasma, etc.

A few wings took a LOT of attempts though. It’s honestly frustrating beyond belief.

All but this. The time is almost completely inconsequential. It’s just a mental barrier.

We had someone on here about a week ago that went as slow as possible, even afk’ing at one point, just to prove this. The run was OVER AN HOUR … and he still got a flawless.

The timer DOESN’T MATTER.

Work up your tech tree. Gear up. Use Empowered. That’s 90% of it.

edit: Have to edit my own thought here. That’s not 90% of it… it’s actually 40% of it. The rest is … RNG.

I’m wrapping up my flawless runs on 12 SOLO atm, so I know what I’m doing. And some runs take 20mins and feel afk easy as I cruise to a flawless run, laughing the entire time.

And some take almost an hour, seem nigh impossible.

It all depends on the Anima powers you get and the LAYOUT OF THE MAP. Which is just: RNG. LAME DESIGN.

We get points for NOT taking Anima powers (epic ones)? That’s the ENTIRE POINT of Torghast!

So FIRST you need to work up your tech tree, gear up, know how the scoring system works to maximize it. AND THEN … pray to the RNG gods. Because TG is just another example of POOR DESIGN wrapped in RNG.

Sometimes classes are more difficult.

My ret paladin has trouble getting flawless because he kills so slowwwww and is horrid at aoe.

But my balance druid just melts people with convoke and aoe up the wazoo.

Avoid epic powers, smash every pot, don’t die, get a lot of obleron armaments, kill elites while empowered, finish run with over 500 phantasma

You get extra points if you do end it before the par time.

yes, but you don’t need those points to get a 5-star run if you pick up enough points elsewhere

I (much to my detriment) enjoy Torghast and solo’ed all my flawless runs and do flawless runs with a friend on a different char.

Don’t listen to anyone saying “Don’t take epic powers” It’s the opposite as it makes you clear slower, harder to kill multiple elites at the same time (which is worth extra points) and slows your mobs killed during empowerment.

Empowerment is by far the biggest point value, but don’t just use it every time it’s up. Make sure to maximise. mob kills and phylateries destroyed while it’s up. the bar has a bit to fill before it maxes so if you get to the end of a floor and there is 3 mobs and a boss, just save it for the next floor. On my DH I can consistently rack up 45% and sometimes 55%. If you can attain 30-35% empowerment You’re doing real good.

Kill 2 elites at the same time This can be difficult early floors. Just don’t do it, wait till latter floors when you’re OP and absolutely destroy with empowerment. Just don’t allow yourself to get “hung up” on them for too long vs killing quick mobs as your empowerment is ending.

Robbing the Broker- throw a Cascade orb at the broker to steal his phantasm. awards points alone

Ending the run with 500 phantasm, this and Robbing the Broker kinda go hand in hand. But remember if you kill the last broker, you can’t use a broker in the Adamant Vaults, which is will leave you out of buying more anima powers and transmog items.

Dodge all traps- well we do our best rofl.

These are the ones to look out for and will keep your torghast fun. If you’re terribly overgeared perhaps taking no epic powers may yield more consistent flawless runs when there are floors with few enemies to Empower kill.

This week is the most annoying wings to get flawless’s in my opinion. Mortregar mobs often just do ridiculous dmg and drop you in packs of 2-3 elites and 4 reg mobs with no control on your part lol. Coldheart lots of fears and movement penalties.

Also the blessings and torments change randomly every day, so if you get certain torments that are crushing your spirit, just come back later. the lazer beams and subjigation torments are my least faves >.<

I am down anytime you wanna try and hammer some out, just let me know and we’ll do eet!

More gear always helps, but I find most people miss points the most involving bonus objectives. Between that, timing, and proper empowerment usage, people can usually find a lot of points in places they wouldn’t expect. Empowerment’s another big one people don’t often take full advantage of.

As others have said: Make sure you get lots of kills with your empowerment. This means using it on large groups of non-elites.

I don’t bother with not taking epic powers, saving my phantasma up, or whatever. Empowerment kills gets you flawless much better, without handicapping yourself.

(Unfortunately for me, I spaced out on the week Soulforges was up and didn’t do a run, so I’m still waiting for that one to come back to finish my collection of Flawless runs for the achievement)

Gonna bookmark this

I didn’t see anyone say this (if someone did, please correct me!) but if you have empowerment right before the end of floor 2, save it and pop it before you go into floor 3 cause it pauses it and it will give you a 100% empowerment bonus for everything you do on floor 3 (unlocking souls/pots/etc) and you get it going into floor 4.

I’ve seen empowerment be suggested to be used on big groups of mobs to be killed or if there’s a lot of pots/souls to be freed (ie clear the room then pop it and clear the stuff and continue on). Both work.

it’s really spec dependent. some do just fine without their epic powers, some really need them.

but yeah the overall idea here isn’t “you have to do everything on the score list”. pick some you know you can get easily, pick a few to keep in mind and a few backups in case those fall through.

yes, do this. i like to pop it when the boss is at about 10%. kill boss, open orb, run through the portal. (be careful if you have the blessing that can one-shot things at low health!)

Spam 9s till you get enough tower knowledge to do it quickly.

Also save empowerment for the easy stuff to kill. For some reason you get more points if you use the empowerment on easy stuff, and even killing the urns. It is untuititve you would think that elites give more points, but no you are better off getting more points doing a bunch of easy stuff really quickly.

Right now you basically have to spend hours to just unlock the adamant vaults … not fun on alts. Torgast feels better when you have at least like 20% of the tower knowledge.

So basically, it’s a DPS check. How original.

Anyway, bookmarked!
