Flanking strike

Does not crit. Not sure if that’s by design but that feels bad. In my mind it should have an increased crit chance for either the pet or hunter depending on which one is attacking from behind. As in both attacks cant crit on the same target at the same time, but one most likely will, unless someone else is tanking. It could also just be if one crits the other cant for balance purposes, but almost anything is better than what it is now. Any thoughts?

Both should crit and do more damage, what is the point of having a skill that hits for less damage then a auto attack, can’t crit AND have a 30 sec cooldown?

lets ease into it, people hate us. but i agree it needs a buff. it also incentivizes the hunter to stay at min range, which is fun imo.

I couldn’t agree more, I was really interested in the aspect of a melee hunter. I would also like to add an increase to the damage window, I hardly if ever get 2 stacks much less 3

Yeah even an couple extra seconds on the flanking buff to raptor would help a great deal.

Flanking Strike is a DPS loss, its better use the mana on additional raptor strikes. It has niche uses when you plan on only being in melee a short time. However, if your playing the dual wield build you dont take it, its bait

Lets be frank here, melee hunter was promised and has not been delivered on. Flanking strike is a joke with it’s 30s cooldown, RNG reset, and abysmal damage. Keeping the necessary dodge proc on mongoose bite is also constraining the build, which doesn’t even apply in raids because if we’re tanking something is going wrong, and in PvP half the fights are vs casters. Also, give us proper disengage for gap closing.

I was hoping for some Rexxar gameplay but instead we got classic era hunter. With anything fun and new being nerfed to oblivion. Our gameplay is literally Auto shot - pet auto swing now.

Question for Blizzard, what roll does hunter fill in raid at 25,45,60?

Also, new rune idea! Rune of Re-rolling!

Plus you can’t use flanking strike when silenced. Doesn’t make any sense.

Flanking Strike has been bugged since day 1. Desperately needs love. Synergy is really poor with old raptor strike

what i would do to smooth out the rotation,
Assuming Flanking strike dmg bug is fixed and moongoose bite activation condition is removed and dmg fixed aswell, i would do it like this:

Flanking Strike:
‘‘You and your pet lunges (12 yard) at the target and deal simultaneous instant 100% melee damage. Afterward, your Mongoose Bite and Raptor Strike deal 10% increased damage for 10 sec, stacking up to 3 times. Raptor Strike and Moongoose Bite has a 20% chance to reset the cooldown on Flanking Strike.’’

I think having moongoose bite deal significantly higher damage and not having this ridiculous dodge condition AND also be included in the reset mechanic of flanking strike would go a long way… but then we have another issue wich is mana :‘’)
PS: Yes i added a lunge to the ability because we have no gap closer whatsoever as hunters in classic.

While at it why not make Moongoose bite more interesting by adding a stacking bleed for example or a rune to make traps usable in combats to synergyse with trap talent. smh
