A staple weapon in most RPG games is a Flail. Why are they not in WoW? I mean the physics is there, there are off hands that have chains on them that flail around? Why is there not a model for an actual flail weapon type. I mean you don’t even need to create another weapon type for this. Just put it under the mace category?
Is there anyone here that would not love to have a flail and a shield, or dual wield flails? That would be awesome.
I mean NWN (Never Winter Nights) a game from the 90’s (maybe 2000’s) had flails in it, why doesn’t WoW?

Warriors and paladins have flails as artifact weapons. I think that’s about it though
Okay… Well that is not very helpful. So there is already a flail in the game? This only fortifies my question as to why there is not more than one flail in an RPG game that can not be obtained anymore?

I mean they’re kinda wonky when your hitting stuff with them lol. Personally I don’t really like them. I agree though they should add some more options.

To the OP: the only current in-game flail models were obtained via the mage tower quest in Legion for Prot warrior and Prot Paladin.
@Fairlight Hmm, so you cant go back and get them anymore? @Krad, so do you think it is because they suck at making animations for them, and that is not why they are not in the game?

Unfortunately you can’t. They may add more skins like this later, but they were a time-limited item.
I’d be all for opening them up. Heck, make it a time walking like feature.

If they added more flails then the rare paladin and warrior mage tower appearance wouldn’t be unique anymore. What you’re asking is to unscrew the rest of players!

Whips would be another great addition to weapon types. I never thought of that one.

I mean they can keep the fancy one, I just want some basic models they don’t even have to be that fantasy based. It would be cool if they were, but I would take realistic ones. Two handed ones would be awesome too.

Because Blizzard decided that flails should be forever exclusive to players who completed the Mage Tower challenges on Protection Warrior and Protection Paladin, so we’re never getting another chance at unlocking flail appearances for transmog ever again.
I still think we should get more flail appearances, though. I don’t think that’s ever going to happen, unfortunately.

Someone told me that it had something to do w/ the animation. That is supposedly why the only flails are limited to Mage Tower appearances. Not being a programmer myself I took their word on it.

Yeah, that’d be cool if they added some more of those, and also added some simple ones too.
Some random knowledge for the thread:
I actually learned that one-handed flails are thought to have been extremely rare, but there’s some doubt as to whether or not they existed at all. They’ve just caught on as a common weapon-type in fantasy/medieval movies and games for some reason.
