I am being forced into PvP when doing the superbloom event.
I am playing on a PvE server with warmode off.
I noticed there are one or two players doing the event flagged for PvP.
My PvP mode is disabled, and I did not ever target or attack any of the flagged players. I can see the combat log, it’s not hard to verify this.
And yet I am being flagged for PvP. On a dps character with no group buffs.
I have to assume this is a bug, so putting this here.
I tried searching for a thread, I assumed this was a common issue. Is this really not happening to anyone else?

This happened to me on a regular basis before I stopped doing the combat portions of the Superbloom event. Now I single target the end “boss”, wait for the griefers to finish, and then collect the loot. I am not a pvp player, nor have I ever enabled war mode on my character. I did report what I perceived to be a “bug” with the Superbloom event. Others whispered to me about a similar experience, hopefully they reported the problem with Superbloom as well.
Yeah happens to me quite a few times.
Warmode off and not attacking any PvP players and then suddenly I am flagged for PvP and the players are attacking me.
All I can guess is they are walking into my consecration and it is damaging them but why is it happening?
Is the Superbloom being flagged as a PvP zone?
Blizzard has had problems preventing inadvertent PvP flagging cause by AoE effects in PvE play. Historically, someone AoEing in PvE and not in warmode or intentionally PvP-enabled shouldn’t affect a flagged player of opposition faction, thereby avoiding inadvertent PvP mode. But it seems this bug crops up with some regularity.
My cynical theory is that some developers are fond of world PvP and think everyone should participate, and slip in the occasional “oops, flagged yourself” condition as their private protest against the “care-bear” PvE game WoW has become.
Of course, that’s just a paranoid theory. Certainly, basic incompetence and poor QA suffice to explain the facts.
I was just coming to report something similar - this has happened twice to me now during a Superbloom on my shaman, and it happened a third time just now while doing the assault on dragonbane keep. Same deal - warmode is turned off. Super annoying as I hate world pvp and there’s so much aoe in my rotation that I feel like I can’t avoid it if someone is flagged.

Same thing is happening to me. THREE times. I do NOT aspire to do PVP, nor do I appreciate the genius masterminds behind the game, to allow this bug to continue.
I tried to report it. No luck. So I came to this spot to vent. This “bug”, intentional or accidental, will ruin the enjoyment of the event. Fix it, or loose subscriptions. Your choice Blizzard.
I had at 700 gold repair bill for getting killed twice by Silverkitty in the Superbloom last night. I have NEVER flagged for PVP, nor do I wish to. This “bug” needs to be fixed.
PvP deaths don’t damage gear the same way as PvE damage, so the PvP wasn’t the source of that repair bill.
If being PvPd caused you to die to a PvE effect because you couldn’t avoid it or win the PvE fight, that’s different. (This includes being PvP mind-controlled and dying to terrain, like walking off a cliff.)

Since this is still happening - bump. I personally have witnessed people fall victim to and get ganked by this bug 3 out of 3 superblooms today.
This needs to be fixed.
Can anyone confirm if it’s this?
Perhaps we can solve this problem ourselves by never selecting an AoE power.
Warlock havoc and the fire mage ignite are notorious for “accidentally” triggering PvP. Ignite more so than havoc. I have also had barrage and volley do this in the past, as well as my hunter pet’s cleave during multishot. Similar issues on my ret pally whenever Final Verdict procs an AOE. So, yeah, at least since WoD days, this has been a recurring problem, like rogue stealth breaking at the drop of a hat.
Just happened to my shaman in superbloom , stupid person took me out over and over even after tree event done would just wait for me to rez and gank me again
