So as it stands the Orc clans are led by a bunch of nobodies while the troll tribes are going through their third or fourth time of being exterminated by the players and other third parties. What is needed to repair the damage done as of 15 years of being used as fodder in dungeons and raids? I am happy and open for any suggestions.
Well, clearly we need to exterminate both the Orcs and the Trolls for good. That’d resolve the issue of them having no-name leaders like Thrall or Rokhan. I mean, who’s ever heard of those guys?
I’ll bring it up at this week’s Alliance Players-Devs meeting on how to push the narrative forward. Shouldn’t be hard.
Rokhan was the lead scout. Thrall was Doomhammer’s Lieutenant. Like Turalyon he was not the first choice to become leader of the race/faction. Try harder.
A good start would be having the Zandalari blockade their ports for any Horde ship until the council is willing to deliver justice for the death of Rastakhan.
As cringe and disagreeable I find most of Erevien’s posts, I do think there is a good point being made here about the leadership of different groups being left in the dust and undealt with just because it’s inconvenient.
Blizzard should try and address as soon as possible who leads the Gurubashi, Amani, and give a status update on some of the tribes that might become relevant in the future such as the Raventusk.
Orcs right now are led primarily by Thrall yet again, but there is a new chance with the re-establishment of the MU orcish clans for further development there.
If we are going to the other side of Azeroth next expansion, it’d be a good chance to go all in on this.
A tribe of trolls on this new continent whom sought neither conquest nor supremacy, but enlightenment. As a civilization they focused on the development of art, philosophy, and diplomacy. They chose to shun Loa whom demanded blood sacrifice and war, and embrace those whom espoused the virtues of tolerance and intellectualism. They never engaged in cannibalism, and find the practice abhorrent. Could be they were an off-shoot of the Zandalari from ancient times. Use the same models, whip up some new customizations, add those to playable Zandalari so Horde players can play as these new trolls.
As a civilization they don’t follow a single leader, as the Zandalari or other Troll Empires did, but had another system of leadership.
All kinds of ideas which could be toyed around there.
Considering only the Frostwolf and Bleeding Hollow Clans are still led by the original families while all other MU offshots got who?s from one time questlines as new leaders I wouldn’t think too much on this. The Orc heritage questline showed Blizzard couldn’t be bothered with a good story for the core Horde race.
Sad I couldn’t read that before it was deleted.
Sorry I deleted it by accident and now I have to start all over again lol. I’ll rewrite it later
No, you can undelete posts. Just press the arrow.
Is Talanji dead yet?
Nope.
Why would you want Talanji dead though?
She’s one of the few active remaining Horde leaders who still hate the Alliance and aren’t part of the Anduin fanboy club.
She agreed to the peace treaty.
Erevien wants all current Horde leaders dead and replaced with the cast of WC2’s Horde.
We’ve been discussing this during the weekly Alliance Player-Dev meeting at Anaheim. We’d love to kill the likes of Ogrim and Zul’jin and especially Garrosh again, but after WoD, the story justifications to bring them back are just so hard. We almost had the Shadowlands 9.3 patch focus on killing them in the Shadowlands, but we really didn’t want them to be completely gone forever, since they’re so fun to smack around as raid bosses.
I don’t need the Horde to be constantly beating up on the Alliance in order to fulfill some ZugZug power fantasy. Mostly when the Horde starts a war it ends with them losing anyway.
2nd war was a Horde loss. In the last two (Garrosh and Sylvanas), it not only ended with them losing, but characters from the game finger wagging at my toons both during and after the war, and a bunch of alliance players whinging about not getting “meaningful payback”.
It’s getting old in a hurry.
The only thing I want for the Horde is to be free and independent from the Alliance, maintaining our own sovereignty, and prospering on our own.
I don’t consider that too much to ask.
