Fixing the IO problem:

Allow filters for raider io scores just like there’s a filter for ilvl.

This way the players that complain about getting declined will never get declined again and won’t even see the groups in the first place.

The leaders of the groups will gain greater efficiency in vetting the players applying.

That would require that Blizzard integrate IO into the game on an official basis – which isn’t going to happen.

Catering to a third party addon in game sounds like a pretty dumb idea.

Doesn’t have to be RIO could possibly be their own system and how Blizzard would rank your dungeon performance and implement their own filters for players to choose from.

Still doesn’t sound like a good idea to me.

If your that bloody worried about it, handle it yourself, Blizzard shouldn’t be putting resources into this sort of thing when there’s more pressing matters to attend to.

To you.

And to many other people.

Raider IO is not popular.

Doesn’t mean it’s not a useful addon. Blizzard could make for a better experience if they implement a tool like that so players can reach out to others with similar goals. Doesn’t have to be extreme or super casual. It’s really meant for group cohesion. I realize that some groups don’t like the timed aspect of “gogogo”
so that way it could be used to avoid players like that.

Or you could just adjust your title in your message.

You’re trying to imply people actually read the title and description. Good one. It’s not as bad as you or others think it could be. Don’t be intimidated by changes to how the game can be played to suit your play style. It could benefit a lot of people.

I’m not intimidated by change.

But this is just a dumb change to request.

We have the tools that work just fine, there’s no reason to possibly break said tool for some flight of fancy.

But IO is not a problem.

Honestly, I would love for IO Score (or some facsimile) it to be integrated into the UI. Allowing us to create filters for groups that would be appropriate to our goals and score in the group finder tool, would also be excellent.

Any tools that help us find “players like me” would be amazing

OR…IO could hide itself for all content not mythic and under +5 and we can all agree that there needs to be a learning space in this game with out IO being used against people. +5 and over, knock your self out you can have it.

Make a group. Join a guild.
Learning curve achieved.

Our group has never advertised that we were checking IO, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t checking it.

What do now?

I think people will still complain because if they apply and don’t get invited, whether it’s true or not, it’s easy to blame their own io score for it.

If they never see the group in the first place, then they’ll never have that opportunity.

The thing I have come to realize is that IO is a tool pretty much tailored for high level M+ groups to look and compare one another. We are talking like MDI levels (not necessarily MDI participants mind you) or right below (I think that’s why they stick to the leaderboard, and why failing a timer doesn’t hurt your score) but like everyone is trying to use it. That’s just my take of course.

The issue in my mind is that there is nothing stopping people from using IO for regular pugs, whether it is a 7 or a 10 or a 12 because there is literally nothing else that people can use. Hopefully blizzard will implement their own system that is better for the masses since they made Ilvl almost useless.

IO is tailored for people that want to evaluate an applicant’s experience. The score provides an overall level of maximum accomplishment - but this can be purchased.

If you go into any players’ profile, you can tell how many time’s they’ve completed a dungeon, what affixes were active, who their group was AND THEIR IO score at the time of the run (useful to see purchased runs; when the player has a low score and everyone else is 1500+), time completed, etc.

Some high level players do use it to compare to one another - but it is used for a far wider community of people that use it to constructively build a group for challenging content below the 15+ key threshold. Given the proportions of the player base across the various key levels, it’s safe to assume it gets used more for the latter.

I think it could be better for the general population is kind of my point, especially since the score and the highest completed are the only things that show up in game.

It’s more popular than not.
