Fixing the AV afk bot issue. Simply

There has bee a lot of very far flung weird theories on this. So I offer this easy solution. If you have zero HKs or killing blows you get zero honor and zero rep for the match. Yes the mine capture team would have to kill something but it would make the game pointless for the cave AFKers. It would take about a week for even the most dense of these AFKers to figure it out and stop queuing for no reason.

No it wouldn’t. They would ride into the very first skirmish and die… then they would afk.

Do you know how powerful scripts are? And how well they would sell??

You can script a bot from 1-60 with little maintenance…

I do not promote or produce such things but I am aware them. My favorite old RPG OSRS has a problem that’s never been dealt with. People are using extremely advanced scripts to even complete complex encounters, repeatedly all day.

Part of this is that the ā€˜AFKers’ you speak of are not even afk, they just follow the zerg stay out of harm and soak HK honor… Your solution doesn’t address this. If you haven’t noticed this, next time you are in a large skirmish just look around and the majority of alli players are not even fighting.

I propose an easier solution

Remove cross realm. Part of the reason why it’s so rampant is it’s hard to enforce and that it’s also not very visible.

Bring server accountability back

This is like in congress when they tack on some completely unrelated thing to the end of a bill to try and sneak it past. No, single server bg’s would not magically stop people from afk’ing. Stop trying to sneak that idea into every unrelated topic.

It is very related.

It doesnt stop afking completely but nothing would.

However making it highly visible will make it alot easier to detect and enforce

The players themselves would do all the work for you! Not only that it’s a ā€œchangeā€ that is simple and has been in the past so the side effects are well known.

So rather than testing a new change literally just add in one that worked in the past

A simple solution to negating AFKers and queue dodgers is to simply restrict the number of times you can queue each day. If you can only do 4 BGs in a day, then the bots will quickly be gone. It will also cut down the need for unhealthy living practices in order to try and achieve rankings, since there would be a cap on what you could gain from BGs, and you’d then need to spend more time in the game world.

Wouldn’t stop AFKers because they would just AFK in every game to the game limit. Of course they would never put a limit on the number of BG’s you can enter in a day anyway.

Although blizzard is a small indie company with very little money, I’d like to ask them to hire some Game masters to watch for botting and players soaking up HKs, much more accurate than any automated system.

Yes, but if they could only get into 4 per day, then they’d be out of the pool of people trying to get into BGs quickly. So you would not be stuck with them, and could enjoy a more fulfilling PvP experience, with people that actually want to PvP.
