The fact that Northrend Dalaran exists in game bothers me significantly. It’s a huge ask to replace/phase it out after the Northrend storylines are complete, but maybe something else can be done to “fix” it and improve world cohesion.
Option 1:
Change the portal in the capital cities to point to the Argent Tournament Grounds.
Option 2:
Move the existing portal in the capital cities to the Caverns of Time. It gives the appearance that we are time traveling and does not seem as jarring.
Open to other people’s ideas for fixing the situation as well!
It’s not just money. It’s a lot of dev time put on stuff so few will even see. And with chromie time it’s cannonically possible to see those old events not updated.
I don’t understand your request too well maybe. You want the portals from our main cities to take us to more inconvenient places instead of to dalaran? Or to travel all the way to caverns of time to go to Northrend?.. it’s a hard pass for me. Story wise our world is all over the place and in all different times. It’s not worth trying to change one thing to make it seem less weird when much of our world is this way, especially when it makes it harder to get around in the end.
Oribos feels awful to run laps around. I keep getting stuck in the raised platforms where the teleporters are and the lines on the floor make me compulsively jump over them like cracks in the sidewalk
Your question is based on the, albeit natural, presumption that we’re staying in the afterlife as we’ve seen it this xpack. There is some circumstantial evidence that suggests that at some point the Jailer and his army will be invading Azeroth through Icecrown. If that’s what happens, then Dalaran would once again be the logical base of operations I’d think.
