Fixing Deathknight

Frost DK
-Buff Obliterate & Frost Strike.
-Nerf Frost Fever.
-Bring back the choice between dual wield and two handed with their own benefits.

Unholy DK
-Remove Necrotic Strike (and all other heal absorb mechanics from PvP).
-Bring back Legion Crypt Fever mechanic (Deals moderately low damage to the target when they get healed), but scale it higher for larger heals.
-Less pets, more main rotation damage.

Both
-Death Strike cost increased to 50 RP.
-Dancing Rune Weapon for damage specializations (50% parry for 10 seconds and 20% reduced damage taken).

Please give thoughts!

Death Knight needs better mobility options. Getting the presences back would help. One of the presences increased movement by a %.

The issue with mobility could be fixed if they gave us clawing shadows baseline

Na bring back blood tap for all specs. Playing unholy was fun as hell when you could control your runes and not pray for rng procs.

You’d turn the only two handed dps spec into a ranged one? Why is that?

I prefer a pet focused, ranged class (Necro-light) than two handed melee.

uhhhh yes it does because they bring nothing to the table

What I want for unholy:

  • Something for pve that raises temporary ghoul pets, without relying on apocalypse or army of the dead cooldowns. I really want something like demo warlocks have with their imps, where one is summoned every few seconds automatically, or where we get a 10-15 second ghoul/skeleton pet every time we spend a rune. I want to swarm my enemies with the undead, unholy is the closest thing we’ll ever have to necromancer and it needs to reach that audience.
  • More diseases/dots. I’m not a fan of the way festering strike / scourge strike work right now, and I’d much rather have 3 or 4 damage over time diseases that I can stack on enemies for both damage and utility effects. Give us blood plague that deals damage over time and reduces healing taken by the target, frost fever that does damage over time and reduces target movement speed, etc.
  • Gorefiend’s grip for unholy >.>

As far as comments above about making DK ā€˜ranged’, I think it should just be a talent option that replaces our melee attacks with ranged casts. Our weapon type should not change though.

Technically this is mostly possible already via clawing shadows, but we still have to be up close to use death strike, festering strike, etc. If we had a talent that simply made our melee attacks have a 20-30 yard range, it’d be a nice flavor change for those who are wanting more of a necromancer feel.

I agree with reducing AA and Ff and put that back into fs and oblit

Take away permafrost and bring back volitile shielding that makes AMS nasty to magic users

As far as the last row of talents. We got a cone with breath and Obliteration does mostly single target and I wish it was changed to an always on while PoF is up

Move gathering storm to the last row and up the damage and time rs is up cap

Unholy is about pets, More pets. Even more!

I really find the ranged spec idea neat but the whole more pets thing meh. I’d rather dump the whole pet thing and make it a true pestilence spreading juggernaut instead of a pimple popping single disease rolling chump with a gargoyle. Gargoyle literally has no place in this kit anymore aside from nostalgia.
