Fix your stupid loot system

So you don’t actually know what you’re talking about, got it.

Lowest common denominator all agreeing with each other doesn’t make them right, actually it makes the reverse more likely a lot of the time. Like now.

They attributed the stats according to the ilvl of the item and stopped there, hence why some items need tuning passes later on to correct them because they’re either overperforming or underperforming. The prevalence of Versatility on new gear, a stat that by all means no dps should actually want above other stats, should tell you all you need to know about which end of the scale blizzard is assigning stats on.

lol @ you thinking that it makes sense that people who designed something have no idea what it is or how it works or how it compares to the other things they’ve made.

But here’s the other problem: The value of each secondary stat is a function of the current distribution of stats that character has.

So if my character has 0 vers, and is into DRs for crit/haste/mastery, vers suddenly becomes my best stat.

They know exactly how the design works. Unfortunately for you, they also know that the design results in too many variables to realistically implement what you claim to want.

you can at most hit 2 drs with maximum ilvl budget assuming a hypothetical optimal stat distribution, which stats aren’t optimal not by a long shot so your hypothetical fails to materialize into reality. DPS get vers before other stats because their stats are failing to scale properly, it’s no coincidence that the specs which do this are also dead last on logs in mythic.

lol now I know you’re a troll, suggesting that what I say I want is only a claim, not a statement of fact.

Citation needed. But even beyond that, what percentage of the player base do you think this represents? How many biases do you think you’ll encounter when randomly polling this fraction that might lead to skewed results? How do you know that I haven’t done a similar poll and showed something different?

It’s a good thing my entire argument isn’t on the quality of the loot system then, isn’t it? Your suggestion isn’t possible to implement and also guarantees anyone with even remotely decent gear would never go into the raid. Your suggestion would kill those difficulties of raid as a result. It doesn’t matter what either of us thinks about the quality of the loot system, your suggestion would make it exponentially worse.

I know it’s only what you claim to want because I don’t think you’ve thought through how it would be gamed.

Let’s say I need the ring from Larrodar, and want the built in simulation to decide that I’m the biggest upgrade? I just do that LFR wing with only 1 ring equipped.

Suddenly I’m the biggest upgrade, since it multiplies off the other items I have which are decently above average for LFR.

People like to complain and happy people leave less feedback. This has been common knowledge since… forever. Your asking in LFR isn’t something that any reasonable organization would consider valid data for a multitude of reasons.

I’m loving GL myself here in LFR land. All my toons are getting geared way faster than I managed with PL (stupid trinkets still being problematic though).

Your opinion of how much I’ve thought of something is irrelevant, and it would be designed to detect that you have only one ring on for the purposes of gaming the system, but it would also know you have a higher level ring in your bag, or in the bank, or sold to a vendor and held on it’s clipboard so that you can buy it back after the raid…

YOU are the one who hasn’t thought very much about this, and I won’t be replying to you again.

I’m glad that I’ve reached a level of maturity where not winning gear rolls doesn’t bother me. Lol You’ve got 5 months of this season left guy, it’s really not a big deal.

But then how does it know which ring(s) form the optimal combo?

But the real issue here is that you seem to want blizzard to build simulation craft into the loot system, which there is no way they are ever going to want to do, because it’s not reasonably doable.

On dedicated servers for only running simulation craft (which get way less traffic than blizzard’s game servers), multi-minute queues are a thing, and I’ve had sims for only rings, gems and enchants take over an hour.

So if you think that waiting 3 min for it to decide who gets loot is a problem now, I don’t think you want to potentially have to wait 60 for it to finish deciding who gets the biggest upgrade.

Seriously, watching people lose it over imaginary videogame stuff is bonkers.

“BIS” is a player invented concept. The game doesn’t care.

Y’all are selfish wow. Couldn’t imagine stealing someone’s BiS for not even enough gold to cover repairs.

Nothing in LFR is ever bis.

This is an lfr post?

this is a pugging post so it might as well be.

Especially in OP’s case, he’s a healer timing 18+ keys, so he gets Hero drops and Mythic vaults. He’ll be max geared halfway through the season, I just don’t see the urgency.

Them blue dragon shoulders from LFR are a BIS for me. Gonna be some upset mail watching me roll on them bad boys every week. Lol (xmog joke, just so we’re clear)
