So lately there have been some issues cropping up with spells hitting you that are either not showing, or clearly not hitting you, but they kill you anyway.

If you go to 3:56 and 5:25 you will see someone die when they are not inside the spell circle.

At 2:11 everything just disappears. In the same video at 3:30 the boss just up and resets. At 3:38 the disappearing spells happens again.

That’s just 2 compilation videos, there are other on that one channel I have seen doing similar and I have my own videos saved showing the same. I had one run in Floodgate that a guildie could not even see the spells at all on the last boss, happened also in Mechagon.

Last week around this time we started having server issues, small lag in spells and random spells not casting. Then there are todays issues, random DC’s and now servers that we cannot even connect to.

Then on top of all this we have the random times the game freezes. I’ve tried everything for this, from reducing all the graphics, to turning off my Re-size bar, to turning off XMP and Hyper Threading, to manually adjusting CPU values in the BIOS and doing some random changes in my Windows Registry.

Today, even with all those changes one after the other, on and off, games freezing still.

This all makes you wonder, how many times have you died or hit a spell and thought “That’s not right”. ‘Not right’ in that you die to something you didn’t even see because it was not there, or you were 100% not in the spell, to the game just having server lag and things not hitting like they should.

I’ve been here 20 years, the best I have ever played was 6/9 BoD raid and M26 in S3 of DF. For this season I’ve been wondering, am I too old for this? But the more I look, the more I realise no, the game just not working as it should be.

A lot of times it can very well be your internet provider. I have decent internet at home but it can get slow at times but work internet is amazingly fast.

Your computer could also be the culprit. For various reasons, it can be slow to process things.

You obviously didn’t comprehend it then, because I posted videos, of random players who are also having issues, issues that cannot be contributed to “Your internet sucks”.

I’ve been killed by ground targeted abilities that were 100% not shown, usually in Motherlode. My group all ran into an issue with the first boss of Theater where the ground targeted ability from Paceran wasn’t showing at all and it utterly slaughtered us. As for any telegraphed ability, you always have to assume the ability is larger than the circle because even with the new, sharper lines, you’ll still get hit if you’re close to them. On the reverse, I’ve been stood directly next to the coin lines on One Armed Bandit, and have missed getting the buff even though I could have kissed the coin as it came flying by.

The frontal right? I have a video of that one where you can see the black from the frontal, but very dull, yet no outlines. It seems like their whole ‘bolt-on’ approach is falling apart.

There’s a video where that Pirate Software dude (the one who used to work for Blizzard) talks about how they bolt-on stuff to make things work and gives the example of Professor Putricide, where they bolted on stuff and turned the boss into a vehicle.

Then there is the famous invisible rabbits they first used for Onyxia, the ones that they use for RNG frontal stuff, the same ones that can keep you in combat. The more they bolt things into the game to make other stuff work, the more we have issues.

Adding lines to existing spells by bolting on some textures instead of re-writing the entire spell to have an outline by default is another perfect example of things falling apart, because if the game engine lags or has delays and the extra outline doesn’t render, then it just won’t show.

If the abilities were re-written to be by default having an outline, then the game would only have to render one thing to make it work, but re-writing thousands of things compared to writing one line of code to work with an outline ability, yeh I can see why they do it that way, but it’s not entirely working.

Nah, that’s mighty smash from Dessia. The noxious spores from Paceran are the little green circles that put the damage fields on the ground after they go off. The circles just straight up didn’t show on any of us for any of us.

Speaking of vehicles, I’m not a big fan of Benk Buzzbee’s fight in Cinderbrew because occasionally you’ll be trapped on the bee unable to dismount or use the ability to get out of the bee. Sometimes it’s permanent, sometimes it eventually lets us free. It’s never guaranteed.

Happened to me in a delve the other day and even though I am colorblind I swear there was nothing there, but I still got hit. But what are you going to do? It’s like arguing with the umpire in the days before instant replay. If you’re wondering if you’re too old to play you probably remember that. I tried complaining about it to Brann but he just told me to have a better plan next time. Starting to hate that guy.

So I took a look at the first video posted, the 3:48 whatever mark the person is obviously disconnecting with people running in place before everything catches up all at once. Almost every time that is a personal issue unless during a situation where the servers were being ddosed when it happens in instances where there aren’t 50+ players doing stuff like a world boss.

The game freeze thing is getting outta hand and I can’t stand it . I do a lot of keys and it’s every key I lock up or my buddies will yell out the same thing in discord that they locked up .

It’s not my PC , it’s the game and it’s lame lol

Running out of VRAM can cause things like this.

having said that, this has happened to me too and VRAM isn’t an issue on my side, so yea it’s prob an issue.

The dude spent like 10 seconds in disconnecting but not kicked off limbo, that pretty much desyncs everything until the client catches up to what is happening. Unless he was recording that during the big DDOS attacks which pretty much bricked everyone’s key at the time, I’ll go ahead and say it’s probably that person’s internet connection or Hardware not being taken care of properly.

Yeh missing spells that kill entire parties, 5 people all at the same time, dying to the same invisible spell. What are chances that 5 people will have the exact same “Your internet sucks” moment and die to the exact same invisible spell?

You didn’t read what I wrote, you didn’t watch the videos, you just commented the same usual crappy response of “It doesn’t happen to me so it’s a you issue.”

Yeh wrong video. It’s the one that comes after that I was referring to.

How much VRAM do you think game like wow needs?.

It’s running on ancient game engine it’s always been CPU heavy more then GPU heavy and I’m thankful for that.

I mean I run wow on rx580 8gigs vram and I have almost no issues minus when it’s a huge world event with 50 plus ppl that tends to lower my fps.

I’m not trying to get into a discussion about how much it needs I’m saying if someone is running 6 or 8gb and also has a lot of stuff open on a second screen you can run into the 8gb cap, and def a 6gb cap.

An immeasurable amount of VRAM, enough to warrant blaming the person who is complaining about the game.

Just for reference I rum 64GB of actual RAM, 16GB of GPU RAM, 2TB of NVME storage and 1TB of spare NVME storage, I also run a 1 Gigabyte internet connection and I absolutely HATE people that come here and be like “It never happens to me, it’s a you issue” and start throwing excuses out that make no sense in light of the evidence provided.
