FIx your kick system

Pardon me, but im not the one that got kicked from a dungeon in a video game and came running to the forums to whine about it. Now you can try and harp on the devs and hope they hear your plea or…

Be sensible and accept my dark world view and start covering your tail more. Its much easier for you to fix your mistake and queue with friends, then it is to expect the devs to consider your position and do anything.

Reminder: this is an online multiplayer RPG based on making friends. Not for playing solo.

the worst is when we don’t have much time to play and we get kicked

Its a terrible system, but the problem is if this terrible system wasn’t the one in use then people would hold group hostage in the other direction. I was there. You zone in, the healer or tank dont like the 5 man, and they just sit there telling you to kick them or they refuse to move.

Moral of the story is the community as a whole is just kind of sucky. Everyone joins group content to satisfy them and themselves only. You are just there to facilitate that desire.

I do think deserter time could be trimmed down a bit. Most these 5 mans at this point take 15-20mins to run. Outside of like… DM probably…

So dropping the debuff down to that probably makes more sense.

It was also a game where loads of other toxic things were allowed/part of the system, and got changed via feedback.

Again, I can’t change your “well this cr4apping on my head is bothersome but I guess I have to take it” view of the world, but I can do whatever I please with my time and view of this issue, and I am!

I might be wrong, but we might have this conversation again in a couple of months. Maybe.

Just start the punishment the 2nd time you’re kicked in some time period, like someone above said. It’s not perfect, but with less false alarms: If you’re getting kicked from multiple random groups it’s more likely you were the problem.

Or a more funny (but probably less feasible) way to punish people taking groups hostage: if you requeue less than 30 minute from a kick you get preferentially put into the same dungeon.

There was some of this…but the way I remember it was - tanks selling instant rdf queues to random players and groups. They get paid and you vote kick them out so they did not get deserter debuff.
Rinse and repeat ez money.

So they put the debuff on being vote kicked as well. Now you would have to wait out the debuff in between selling insta ques.

I remember this as well, I saw more of my scenario but I did encounter this too. ez money indeed.

Im not sure what you think there is to fix. Ot could be the solution becomes worse then the existing problem. Players already queue in and randomly leave, removing the penalty would only increase the chances of players leaving.

Should we rename the debuff then? Perhaps if you’re kicked we should call it “unworthy” or something?

Do you see how silly it is to fixate on the NAME of something?

I lol’d hard at this.

the solution is simple. remove the deserter debuff for being kicked from a group, and ban people trying to hold a group hostage to get a kick if they dont ‘like the dungeon’. it would require them to actually get some staff to read tickets and such though so it will never happen.

make your own 3 people group then queue.

Or play like you are on a team and don’t be toxic in chat, etc and you get no debuff.

I mean if you see people in the same guild in RDF best to just tuck your tail and follow their lead. Ego’s exist everywhere.

I have told ya’ll an easy solution to this before. What you do is, you try to kick their tank and then write in something like : ‘‘Bad DPS’’. Then half the time they auto click yes without looking at who it’s actually kicking. This is a risk, as they will probably end up kicking you next if it fails. But if it works, it’s so so satisfying and hilarious. Usually ends up with them all leaving and eating a deserter buff instead because they don’t want to finish it with you out of spite, and you usually can just afk for 5 minutes and get a complete new group.

Hmmm…that does not seem toxic at all, no sir, not one bit. :unamused:

Some of us arent toxic PoS’ and like to fix things than make em worse. nty

You, you don’t have to kick people if you have the majority…and making your own group of at least three is the current solution. If a solution is what you are looking for here.

Three of my guildies got into a heroic and the two randoms were a group themselves too. The druid in their group kept failing a mechanic over and over and causing a wipe, they attempted to vote kick and it failed because his friend would not accept. Both groups got into an argument and literally held the dungeon queue hostage for 45 minutes.

People can be absolutely that petty.
