It’s clear you didn’t test any of this. I’m used to patches releasing with some bugs, but this has been embarrassingly bad. I’ve gotten so many whispers from friends asking what to do on bugged quests. Brick after brick in the new delve. I look at the forum and it seems everyone is frustrated. The content might even be good, we wouldn’t know because even getting to progress is a dice roll.
oh, is the new delve that good?

I’ve gotten to the point I don’t login several days after patches. Not sure what what to say. I’m not paying to test broken stuff in prod.
Brick by brick…
If you want them to fix the game you have to help by reporting bugs in a concise manner (what happened, where it happened, steps how it happened) in bug report forums as you encounter them.
Vague posting in frustration doesn’t speed things up any and any relief granted by venting is only temporary.
Of course they didn’t, they have stated they have no test team and rely on players on the PTR.
companies used to understand
having/doing quality control is cheaper than not having/doing it
customers should never be treated as the quality control team because
they pay to be entertained here,
they don’t pay to work here
I just don’t tryhard in the first week, even if there is some FOMO thing.
bugs are gonna bug! ![]()
Not saying to work for Blizzard, only to use complaints in a way that works towards a solution.
If I go to a restaurant and my steak comes to me cooked into shoe leather, complaining about it to my SO on the drive home doesn’t fix it, informing the staff does.
and having quality control in the form of a cook who knowing he/she cooked it into shoe leather would prevent it from happening
or even a server who could tell by looking at it
lack of quality control costs customers
who don’t return
and if they do
in blizzard’s case they lose sub money for some time
personally my sub runs out today
I will get entertainment in a less frustrating place for awhile
and yes I did put tickets in before clearing out mail and leaving
What would probably speed things up is people like you not playing defense for their absolute lack of QA and more people demanding the devs at least play the damn game before releasing it. I question if even a single dev played any of the new content. There’s no way they did and thought “This is good enough to ship”
And then ignore the PTR bug reports. ![]()
I’ve reported bugs in the bug forum that are still sitting there.
No, the only way to get them to fix something is if enough people make a stink about it.
I reported the bugs I encountered yesterday. And today those bugs were fixed. Getting mad that a bug happened doesn’t fix the bug. A bug I encountered and reported even earlier (a cosmetic, non-gamebreaking one) was also fixed recently but it simply took longer because it was not a high-priority subject that impacted one’s ability to play the game. It did not require a flash mob or constant spam.
Screaming at devs that they released a patch without it being completely bug free is like screaming at a cashier because corporate raised the prices. You forget, developers aren’t the ones in control of the release schedule, Blizzard hasn’t been “We will release it when it’s ready” in over a decade, can blame capitalism for that one.
Incorrect, that actually makes it harder to fix the problem. It has happened frequently enough where something can be bugged, other people hear about it and interpret it differently to claim something else is bugged (when it isn’t), creating false bug reports which clog up the workflow on working through legitimate bug reports so the things that can be fixed would end up taking longer.
1 - blaming capitalism is absolutely brain dead considering capitalism would say delivering a good product not on a deadset schedule is good because then you don’t risk losing subscribers due to bug filled patches (btw, that’s been every single patch recently. You might be new to wow if you haven’t noticed it)
2- Do you think this is DMs directly to devs only? Like somehow posting here goes to devs but not management??
Also, no screaming here isn’t screaming at the cashier. It would be like screaming at the chef after he served you a burnt steak 4 times after you told him make properly. I get you’re extremely submissive to big business and want to play nice and thats exactly why the game is the way it is. People like you just settle for “oh well I’ll report it and be happy” where if more people were “fix it and make it right the first time” we’d probably have a QA team to fix stuff.
the assumption you’ve built into your statement is that buggy patches result in a non-negligible number of sub losses. that’s a guess not supported by any data we have access to.
I mean, there’s constant problem with the quality of patches across every version of the game with every single patch. Just from my own personal experience in a guild of 90 people, we have had more burn out and people quitting earlier in the season than ever before.
capitalism would say cut all the corners and then cut some more for good measure, pump the short term numbers and then sail away on your golden parachute
absolutely. but the goal of the business isn’t to produce top quality patches, it’s to make money. if they have to provide a good product to make money, they will. if they can make money with a worse product, they’ll do that instead.
midnight seems to have not had a single patch cycle not riddled with bugs in the “main” content it’s centered around, not counting the lovely issues specs had for a while at launch. some bugs are to be expected but the cadence and volume of them is becoming unbelievable.
within this last major branch, you have in the bleeding of mythic guilds due to the abhorrent design of this latest raid, the pretty alright vault changes being completely overshadowed by poorly implemented bonus roll system, and the fact that the labyrinths are beyond bugged with progress/collision issues.
its kind of insane that things just keep getting released with seemingly no thought (or qa)
