Every time i use it in brd i take damage instantly and its nothing but a puff of smoke. why doesnt it cancel attacks, why doesnt it stop agro, this is game breaking

Vanish is not a 1click deaggro button in 100% of situations, Using it correctly seems to be your problem, nothing broken about it.

Theres currently two sets of behaviour with vanish that are being reported as bugs.
The first is due to spell batching. This is when you vanish and mobs hit you after youve vanished because the hit is registered at the same time you vanish.
Thus, you are in stealth but also in combat.
This is not is not an actual bug, but an “intended mechanic”. A stupid mechanic built around an otherwise buggy skill that has caused no massive amount of grief, but a mechanic nonetheless.
The second is being out of range or sight on targets in combat, allowing for batching to “clear” and using vanish and remaining in combat.
This also usually results in some otherwise weird behaviours and is an unexpected behaviour.
This is a bug proper.

I’d say they’re both bugs since they’re both not intended behavior. They “TRIED” to make it like vanilla spell-batching but failed miserably.

Can confirm, also experiencing this bug. It doesn’t matter what distance or wether you have incoming dmg/debuffs or anything. Vanish will just work cosmetically and do nothing.
you clearly have no idea what you are talking about, its the same in pvp as the above video. absolutely does nothing half the time !
