Wasn’t the difference between honor and conquest gear the same as unranked and 1400, or 1400 and duelist right now? Also the forums were rife with complaints about teammates not having honor gear, how long it took to earn honor/conq, people botting, etc.
There is nothing about an mmo that sets the current PvP gearing system as the only one any MMO should or even could ever use. If the defining characteristic of an MMO is, as the poster above suggested, a long, pointless grind requiring many currencies and months for upgrades while still leaving unrated PvPers as a smear in the dirt, then wow was never an MMO before.
The difference was 10 ilvls, 710/740 for conquest and 700/730 for honor gear, which would be the equivalent of 3 ilvls in Shadowlands scaling.
Are you seriously trying to tell me you think there’s only 3 ilvls of difference between top gear and unleveled starter gear, or even worse, the crap gear players have on hitting 60? In wod that crap gear was scaled up and they got a slightly lower version of honor gear as a participation reward. Imagine, participation rewards for badly geared players instead of punishing them with many months of grinding and queuing only to be turned into currency for you. Don’t faint.

Not true. I PvP all day everyday open world and instanced PvP retail and Classic.
I level my alts through end game PvP I have not complained once about it.
Better than you because i dont sit here and complain nonstop. I have plenty of PvP title toons. And you cant tell me I am bad or good when I am posting on a toon that I made out of spite to mock the paid for boosts in Classic and decided to waste my only boost on a toon i would never play.
And I never said I like the current system. I have ALWAYS liked everything regarding PvP in this game. Thats all I do all day everyday is PvP in both retail and Classic. I do absolutely nothing else. And calling me bad? When you actively hide your profile. Okay then…
No because putting ME in a separate PvP bracket will cause me to have a 10 hour queue. It really would.

Me having good gear is al because I have no skill, dont deserve it and only got lucky back to back every pvp title I have ever gotten was by pure puck, I have absolutely no skill. I did not get over 3,000 rating, did not get to HWL, Don’t have a Senior Sergent DH, A Sergeant Hunter, A High Warlord warrior, Khan almost Battlmaster. But yea You are 10x better than I am. Cuz I am BAD because I can beat people in PvP. I play this game over 18 hours a day. of course Im ahead of the average person. It would be entirely 100% impossible not to be with how much I play.
So I once ganked someone with lower level gar on my pally… “Oh you are rolling FoTM and got LUCKY” I gank someone else with same pally later “Oh you only won because you have good gear” You only get glad cuz you have good gear" So if I absolutely wreck you and I have bad gear… I am bad and also got lucky. I do the same thing with good gear and I am also bad.
But I am guessing that if YOU wreck me under the exact same conditions you are good right? I am BAD. You are GOOD. That what you wanted to hear? I worked very had for what I have. I am trying to get 1,000 days /played time on my main Thats my life goal is to do that and also to have every achievement in the game and to do it at any cost even if I lose all my friends and family by doing so. This game is my life. Your life is going outside sometimes and that’s okay. I do not. I just stay inside and play WoW as much as is humanly possible.
You will NEVER see me making one of those self pity “Im subbing posts” like the rest of you do when you unsub. I plan to stay until the very end. And as for me getting my gear? I worked as hard as possible to get what I got. I had to start at the bottom just like you. UNLIKE you however, I was skilled enough to pull to the top. Everyone starts at the bottom. If you are currently there, then work to pull thru it. You are aware that in order for me to get that gear I had to work for it against people who were exactly at my level right?
I put lot of effort into getting what I got here in WoW. And I am going to level another 60 in Classic and get that rogue to Grand Marshal. I have 3 or 4 level 60 classic pallies, a 60 rogue, a 70 pally in Classic. That I PvP on. And 3 60s here in retail.
You people complain about retail nonstop 24/7 on these forums. It’s disgusting. WHY?

No, you need to get a grip. All I have been saying back to back to back on multiple posts is that I do not want them to change anything. Look thru my posts. I have not said it is good or that it is bad, because you keep asking for a change and I keep saying NO because every time they make a change, things get worse.
Gaming companies now days never make changes for the better. It is always for the worst. Blizzard-Activision used to have private investors looking at sub counts to determine success. Now they look for character /played time and how much time you spend in game. That is why everytime there is a change, it is just an extra added grind and if that doenst work then you can unlock it with micro transactions.
So no. NO changes. I have said it once and I will say it again. I do not want anything changed in PvP. And you also purposely misquoted me to fit your agenda, I did not imply that I am good or skilled because I can smash on people with my well geared toons. i can also do that with my lesser geared onese but they aren’t one shotting players. I was showing an example of how gear and skill matters but gear matters a bit too much. And it is not just the gear. it is Covenant abilities that do that as well. A one shot venth paladin. Elite pally elite toon and I am slightly above average skill on it. There are a few pallies who are better than me on my server in retail. I also mentioned that my pally does that. Never said my warrior does and my warrior is by far my best geared toon.
So if my best geared toon can do something that my not best geared can do and it can do it back to back to back, that right there should PROVE that gear is not the only deciding factor. SKILL has a lot to play. You wont admit it but it does.

Random battleground is practice and fun. No one should want to pwn in unrated bc of Item level being the main reason - not even fun when you delete someone with a global or two bc of gear.

Blizzard never had and neve will focus balance on anything not endgame. It is illogical. But the only irony of that is that endgame right now is also very unbalanced.
Why don’t you have good PvP gear?
An easier fix… Is if everyone was in a designated bracket of similar ilvl and rating.

Random bgs should be ilvl capped to whatever the lowest lfr cap is during the season.
I stopped playing RBG in 9.05 because hunters simply sucked . Glad I stopped because nobody plays RBG nowadays

Then none of my 60s could get in. i am far above that. If you mean scaled down then thats another thing. But having a lockout for high geared players would cause people to stop playing. RBG queues are getting harder and harder to find. Most groups are P2W on the group finder and those that aren’t are poorly organized and the team takes for ever to get going and then will quit after a single loss even after having back to back wins.
The vast majority of the playerbase quit doing RBGs. I got into one group with my pally and the queue never popped so the team started logging off. RBGs are in a terrible state right now. Its not worth the wait to try and group up and get to a super low CR that never rises because you are unable to find any decent competition.
