Kind of dumb that only 5 people in a group of 40 can just report you “AFK” and you instantly get kicked?

two people. one person to report, and another person to sit there and be afk long enough to be removed.

Wrong. It instantly removes you based on the votes, you don’t have to actually be afk for any period of time.

Not just kicked, but also get the deserter debuff and be punished for 15 minutes for… (checks notes) … not being L60.
Nobody whispered me. No warning message. I hadn’t even said anything and we were 30 seconds into the match. Just mounted up and running. Suddenly - loading screen, deserter debuff, “you have been removed from the group”.
Okey dokey.
I mean, why would a “report AFK” feature need to check if the player is actually responsive / stationary? Surely the word of the masses is sufficient enough to determine if the player is away. /s

Also seems to happen at WSG. There the Twinks afk vote non Twinks 
It´s crazy and sad, how people abuse Vanilla features these days. The wall jumping at WSG is also exploited and there are no GM´s to ban them.
Where are the #nochanges people now?
I’ve had times where it was an instakick and times where it gives you a 3 min debuff telling you to PVP before you get kicked no idea why it sometimes does one or the other

TBH I would rather have a lvl 51 running around looting and turning in armor scraps than a level 60 doing dick-all and trying to sabotage the match.

The “AFK timer” debuff I’ve seen - which was also comically applied nearly immediately after the match started where it’s physically not possible to reach combat before it expires - only resulted in a “you won’t earn honor until you enter PvP combat” debuff, which was itself a comical feature.
