its not just you. it even happens when i have NO addons enabled. none!

Same here.

The addons I use are all updated. Still happens.

I disable ALL addons and reboot. Still happens.

This is ridiculous and needs attention now….

Ah! I thought it was just me. Do you use Bagnon by any chance?

Ran AQ yesterday to lazily finish some endeavor stuff, and half the stuff had no tooltip. Turned off Bagnon and could see the tooltips again.

I don’t use Bagnon or any bag addon at all.

i do not

i have auctionator for ah tooltips on saleworthy items, scrap, pettracker, allthethings, krowi’s achievement filter, world quest tracker, and paragon reputation. all are updated, and even turning them all off i get the same problem

Turned off all addons.
Mouse over visible buff/debuff icon.
SURPRISE LUA ERROR, THAT BUFF IS SECRET.

are you seeing the secret buff under tooltips too? it’s all broken

“this tooltip is a type” etc etc

No, something about it being secret appears at the top of the LUA error. The buffs in question were always visible without addons or auras before.

hm idk, i only see this message on buffs when i am in combat though.

After turning off all offending addons, bugsack is attributing all of these errors to the blizz ui itself.

i found a messy workaround, go into /say and shift-click the item to make a link of it. hit enter then you can click that link to see the item’s tooltip

A very specific example from last night was mousing over the Silken Court’s “We share healthbars” buff icon. I had to disable error messages to raid last night with default UI.

Hmm, are you talking about having the tooltips showing on your mouse cursor or is it something else? I had an addon for it before pre-patch but it no longer works now :frowning: .

when you mouseover a world quest to see its objectives and rewards, you get nothing at all. mouse over an item, and either the panel will have a 1000 bpm seizure or simply not exist. tooltips everywhere are hideously broken

Ahhh you mean that. I had it happen to me many times like when I hover over any item I am wearing in my character sheet and the tooltip doesn’t show at all until I move my cursor away from the item and then hover over it again and then it shows up. It would sometimes take like 2 or 3 tries until the tooltip would show up.

Holy bugs. Have they been using some janky Ai support tools thinking it would replace an actual coder :rofl:.

The bugs are getting too much for a game with a monthly fee and pay expansions.

This company is starting to stink like Ubisoft.

Not having the issue myself, but common troubleshooting steps are gonna be (from smallest to biggest PITA):
Reloading UI when it happens (/console reloadui)
(Insert disabling addons here)
Exiting the game and deleting the cache folder
Exiting the game and deleting your interface/addons folder (Back up yo addons) (or just rename it)
Exiting the game and backing up your WTF Folder and delete it (or just rename it)
Reinstalling the game
