If the casting bug still exists going into 10.1.5, I’m going to unironically delete my evoker ( main ) and reroll something that actually works.
3 pulls in a row of Mythic Rashok where I couldn’t hit a single button on my keyboard, I could move and melee the boss.

The only way to resolve it is to log out and back in again, and hope it doesn’t happen.

Fix it, please. I had it in a key last week and I literally had to relog in the middle of a 20 key because my buttons stopped working. There is absolutely zero reason for it to still exist.

You say this, but when only one person is mentioning such a high impact, known bug, I tend to lean towards it being UI or addon interference. Reminds me of times when my abilities wouldn’t cast because the game decided that my self cast modifier was active and was attempting to cast damage spells on myself, leading to an invalid target error and nothing happening.

You are the first and only person i’ve seen mention this issue to this degree.
We used to have the problem where our essence abilities would arbitrarily require one more essence than they should and would be uncastable until you got one more essence, but that has seemingly been fixed
We also had the issue where your entire bar would gray out sometimes after using TTS and Empowering, but that never locked you out of casting, and it’s also been a long time since i’ve seen that happen.
And then there was the issue of empowered spells failing to cast (sometimes several times in a row), and again that one also seems to have been fixed.
Right now the only notable issues i can think of that still exist and are prevalent are:
- We can still get stuck in combat after releasing during a wipe in M+.
- The issue with spell queuing and empowered abilities where if you queue up an empower, and start queuing up another spell right after it starts casting, it will stop casting and do the other ability you queued up instead.
- And for preservation, when using hold-and-release, needing to reload when entering an instance because your breaths (one, the other, or both) will be stuck on press-and-tap while spiritbloom will still be hold-and release.
What exactly makes you think it’s not a you problem? Did you try pulls with all your addons disabled? Delete WTF and Cache folders? Scan and repair? Because i feel like i’d have heard more about it if it were common.
And yeah, make sure your self cast button isn’t stuck if you have one. Sometimes my alt key gets stuck and i get very confused.
I get this issue all the time of all my characters. I’ve tried disabling addons to figure it out, but it’s intermittent and /reload fixes it (which is also how you disable an addon) so it’s really hard to tell what’s causing it.
