Fix the auction house exploit

ok this is not and exploit and im sorry flipping a sale is kinda the point of the ah house good players can spot when something is more valuable than what the seller is asking for they don’t get the full profit just the difference in price so i don’t see why you would even have issue with it?

The AH is a free market, people can flip or post stacks of 1 to artificially flood the market if they so desire.

It’s My gold not “our” gold.

So now i’d get called an exploiter if i post stacks of one, even if i do it manually? come on, stop skipping your meds.

It’s annoying, not against tos.

You can sort stackable things by rarity and it will kind of sort by stack size.

Too lazy to install an AddOn, amazing.

It was never “fixed” on retail at all. They actually just added upping the cost to put single stacks up a few patches ago. They didn’t stop people from doing it at all.

I feel like this is a troll post at this point.

the addons you speak of can expedite the posting process yes, but its also something you could do manually and I believe also with the assistance of a macro or series of macros.

what you describe isn’t a game breaking mechanic it does not add a substantial amount of stress to the community as a whole, there are multiple ways of relisting auctions based on certain factors in the default blizzard UI, and if your just looking for the cheapest buyout of the largest stack of an item, you should not find it too difficult.

the forums are here by all means have your say, but this is a trivial issue, and I do hope you aren’t losing sleep over it.

What you’re describing is how the AH works normally. there is no fail safe on retail to prevent people from listing single items, that would be insane…

if you can’t handle the OG auction interface (and it’s pretty bad) grab Auctioneer or Auctionater. they’re both pretty simple to use and have 1.13 versions available.

clearly you are one of the people who sells as individual items rather than stacks and dont want people bringing attention to the way you and others are manipulating the AH.

yes, no where does it state that you have to sell items as stacks but it is so obviously a technique used by people to force or trick others into buying the higher priced individual items or to get them to sell their stacks for cheaper which people like you will then flip for profit.

“working as intended” i doubt it, since no overhauls have happened to the AH implementation since classic and blizzard attempted to fix this problem in retail, their solution wasn’t smart and didnt resolve the issue.

OP: So flipping is a thing and I am not talking about THAT specifically, I am talking about another thing

Everyone in this thread: ITS CALLED FLIPPING ITS COMPLETELY ACCEPTABLE

The only items i know of that don’t have a posting fee are things like enchanting mats, because they have no vendor value.

Honestly… this is working as intended.

Posting single stacks isn’t trolling, it’s good business. People won’t always need a stack of Liferoot or Wool Cloth and posting them 1 at a time allows folks to spend exactly what they need.

Auction Addons like these existed in Vanilla and therefore are totally legit for Classic.

IMO: Install one yourself, they make navigating the AH much easier and quicker. They are easy to install and use, and honestly, the only ones being negatively impacted are the “purists” who refuse to use Addons… for some reason… as though using the API Blizzard puts out is somehow offensive to their sensibilities.

That’s how it was back in the days, I didn’t even know it was different in retail now.

Three different people in this thread gave specifics of things without deposit fees. It is real.

Shhh, don’t tell people that the power to avoid this in their own hands by clicking the sorting button, what’s wrong with you? Don’t you know what these types will do with that kind of power? That’s right…whine for someone else to fix something they could have fixed themselves.

Yes because I have noticed that cloth doesn’t have a deposit I am clearly one of the people posting all of the singles… Amazing logic

No one is forcing anyone to buy anything from the AH…

It’s not tricking anyone… if your concerned about money then your thrifty, you look for the best deal…

It works on people who don’t care or have the time to look for a good price. People who have enough money to not care.

“Some time ago”

Wasn’t it literally earlier this year?

What do you think mom and pop stores do in RL? They buy bulk at the warehouse stores/wholesalers and then sell individually. Nothing wrong with trying to make money on the AH.

Blizz should just let us sort mats in the ah by stack size, or to exclude from search all stacks under the designated size.
