I mean, it is. Especially in TBC. This allows you to shatter combo, and it helps alleviate lag. The issue with classic is that it’s 400 MS or more. It should be around 100-200.
Don’t post on things that you know nothing about.
The vanish stuff im triggered over, is literally a bug I believe. They said they fixed it, but they didn’t. As far as I’m aware they’ve said that.
Edit: Even private servers have spell batching :>. Google “Netherwing spell queue”
before u try to type to me again with drool leaking all over ur keyboard and u can look at tbc videos too! it’s always been necessary! but its too extreme in classic.
Frost nova isn’t eaten upon spell collision like the effect from Elemental Mastery would be (in a batch-less world). So in a batch-less world, depending on whether or not your frost nova persisted through damage, Shatter would still work.
It would be more RNG based, sure. It probably wouldn’t be as effective…but it would still work.
It is pretty silly, was going into ubrs with mind control cap last week, MC a spellbinder, get my FR buff, wait for the cap to wear off vanish aaaaaand the mob just stands there for an extra second to wack me and die because of it. It’s been a problem since phase 1 but it’s not SUPER common, still very much BS when it happens though.
Shatter still works without batching. Enemy gets nova’d–>Hit with Frostbolt Crit–>nova DOESN’T break–>Hit with Fire Blast crit because nova DIDN’T break.
Shatter just worked. Twice. That’s a combo. Checks out.
I don’t want to get too deep into the under-the-hood workings of WoW servers, but here’s a super short version. Any action that one unit takes on another different unit used to be processed in batches every 400ms.
“I just want to be clear on the issue here. Vanish can be broken by auto-attack and even spells if they land immediately after vanish takes effect, this is an issue that is caused by the client/server latency and can not be prevented.”

“Impossible” simultaneous actions.
Examples: Rogue Vanish being broken by attacks, Two mages polymorphing each other, Paladin Divine Shield being dispelled as it is cast.
