The autocast toggle is shared between fire and earth primal elementals. Also the buttons on the shaman pet bars are locked and the spells they share are completely different. This causes you to have to manually fix the autocast on every summon, a huge problem in arena. Please fix it.
Have you tried being Ele and taking Primal Elementalist talent?

That talent doesn’t work for enhancement if I remember correctly, but does for elemental. Try posting this on the shaman forum, the folks there are pretty helpful and overall wholesome.
The talent doesn’t exist for Enhancement… and no clue why you went off on Enhancement when clearly they were talking about how the abilities from the Fire and Earth elemental bug out when you have this talent.
Lsdmt: I noticed this a while back. While I don’t main Elemental, it was an issue. There were some macros I seen that possibly solved this issue. Maybe I can find them again once I get home from work.

Because I don’t have that issue on my Ele and Primal Elementalist talent on.
God I love Shamans, so wholesome.
So the only macro I found is:
- #showtooltip
- /cast Fire Elemental
- /cast Storm Elemental
- /cast [talent:6/2] Eye of the Storm
- /cast [talent:6/2] Meteor
That is just for their special ability though. As for their auto cast abilities, they are working as they should on my character. The Earth Elemental just uses their taunt on cast though. Yet, I was able to switch between the two and use every ability without having an sort of cooldowns.
Might just be a bug then. I’d probably edit your original post and have it go to the Bug Report subthread and see it gets any traction there. And good luck

Okay so I just came back after having last played about halfway through dragonflight season 3. The issue you are describing here was DEFINITELY not an issue for me before, but it is now.
People here don’t seem to understand what you are saying, so I’ll try to ELI5:
With the Primal Elementalist talent, Fire Elemental gains 3 abilities. Lets call them ability 1, ability 2, and ability 3. Fire Elemental wants auto cast on abilty 1 and ability 2, but you want to manually cast ability 3 as the player.
Earth Elemental gains 2 abilities. Lets call them ability 1 and ability 2. Both of these abilities NEED to be manually casted or they can mess things up in both PvE and PvP.
Now, the problem is, ability 1 and ability 2 have the same auto-cast state settings between the two different elementals. This means if I want auto cast on ability 1 and 2 for Fire Elemental, when I switch to Earth Elemental it will automatically cast its ability 1 and 2 (remember, we need to manually cast those are they can mess things up). And vice versa, if I turn off auto cast on the Earth Elemental’s ability 1 and 2, now the Fire Elemental will literally just stand there doing nothing even if you are spamming /petattack.
This is a HUGE issue in PvP, and still quite an issue in PvE.
