Fix server unbalance

Please fix or find “a way that works” to balance server population(Horde vs Alliance). I play on a server where its close to 35%(Ally) and 65%(Horde) and it’s absolute HELL.

Horde have 3 hour PvP Q’s and resort to camping almost every outpost in the open world for honor. For Alliance It’s nearly impossible to farm open world. Farm options consist of; Split loot in a 5-man group somehow, or to roll a mage and hide in a dungeon 24/7 which 20% of the few alliance that are left have done. The Horde cant make money because everything is so cheap, and the alliance cant afford anything cause what is on the AH is very expensive. Most items on the alliance AH are double the rate of Horde, others are 3x or more(I’ve made a large amount of money on Cross Faction Auction house). This became a MAJOR problem when the server transfers that were offered off of our realm when many alliance players left because of how bad it was inevitably making the problem even worse.

Im not sure how to find a way to balance this that acceptable, maybe have a poll for people to vote on. IM AN AVID LEAVE IT AS IT WAS person #nochanges, but I’m willing to make extreme changes to fix this issue.

Which server?

I can understand that some people prefer different levels of balance, but I don’t think faction balance was ever promised. There are also at least some people who would prefer to be the underdog.

OP, you’re in the wrong forum. This is the classic forum. Post on your classic character and try again, otherwise I have to believe you’re just talking about retail.

Server specific pop imbalance, with current caps, is literally all in your head. Youll never die, constantly, to 1.3 players.

However: region wide has been an issue for BGs and there is no Blizz solution for it. Telling players they can only roll one faction or another is fundamentally unsound.

Best solution: let the sheeple beat each other up with premades for gear that makes them even more overpowered for Classic content. Youll be just fine without it, or flasks.

There is no solution for this. Any attempt by Blizzard to control what factions players can choose would cause mayhem. That is why Blizzard will continue to be hands off when it comes to this.

This is, and always will be, a player issue.

WoW has been a game for 16+ years, and in that 16 years has NEVER balanced server populations. Obviously, they aren’t going to start now to please you.

That would be “an experiment to test a player’s theory”. And where are they going to test a theory? Certainly not in Classic WoW, an old game!

Why don’t you transfer to a realm that is “balanced” and tell us how wonderfully better playing there is. Because I don’t think it will be. I don’t think it will “fix” anything! Neither does Blizzard.

OP appears to describe Herod.

35/65 split is nearly two to one. No matter how you scale that, one side always has a massive numbers advantage.

OP there is no real solution to this problem. More people on PvP realms want to be Horde. That’s all it is. Any changed to fix this problem would change the game so drastically it wouldn’t be “Classic” anymore.

You’ll have to find your own solution to this problem.

Oh there’s a solution, but the OPs head will implode if they do it.

Sharding and Warmode vs current problems.

they could make all realms PvE where players can flag for PVP instead of forced PVP realms…

Reroll Alliance.

Problem solved.

Sure. And how does that translate to an advantage on a normal cap server?

PvE especially?

Even open world pvp. I play on a lopsided pvp server for funz as majority Horde and we cant win against organized alliance guilds and its 2:1. Raise the caps on a big server and watch the Horde absolutely devour Alliance everywhere.

In fifteen years, nobody has ever been able to articulate a decent response to how faction ratios give an advantage on normal cap servers.

Pull the sword from the stone, man!!

No seriously: you wont find a single metric you can point to to show how ratio matters on normal or low density servers.

Proof: look what happened when caps (and therefore density) were raised!!

Lol. Im in the camp where that was a perceived (and reused) bandaid to a whinebois problem.

Nah cuz how we gonna kill the bots and control nodes on a pvp server?

On retail the ah is combined and you.can turn off warmode so none of what hes complaining about exists. Maybe you should read the post instead of dismissing it because of the avatar.

This is a player issue. It’s created and made worse by players and nobody else.

Look at the populations of the pvp servers and you’ll see some of them have over 90% of one faction.

This isn’t done by players that want fairness, this is done by people who want to be on the winning side.

This is, and always was, a player-created issue. Any gripes about faction imbalance on the gankfest servers are infinitesimal compared to the drekstorm that would rain down if Blizzard started assigning factions, or doing faction specific queues, or regulating how many people from each faction can be in Burning Steppes at a time, or any of that.

However, OP, there’s a solution! Simply play on a PvE server. If you want a bit of danger, flag yourself, and other like-minded individuals will oblige you, all while most people in the server go about their business, and faction balance only matters for opening the scarab gate.

Thanks guys i keep this as my avatar becasue he was my first but thanks for assuming all that about me you’re a real hero. an no im in the right form what why i posted here but that’s cool too.
