I love stacking Crit on Spriest and miss the 70% crit in BFA. You can get some pretty high Crit still on Twinks though so that is good.
Yea all of this is great for the game of course. Reflect damage builds like Prot Pal doing Strathe with shield spike, Skullflame etc was fun. The more customization options the better I think we are getting there but not there yet.
The Devs need to pull the ripcord and just give us a classic modern version of WoW in Dragonflight. The much needed return of Talent trees happened now just have 2 or 3 gem slots on an item. Have reforging. Have fun Tier sets. Have interesting professional buffs.
I agree they should bring back professional buffs again too. Another reason I love playing my Twinks is because Professional buffs still matter. You can get Leatherworking for the old enchants. Or inscription for shoulder enchants. Then you get Alchemy for the Alchemist flask.
Which is why Twink gameplay is better than max level. I got 5 days left on my sub then back to my 20’s and free 2 play. It’s very strange that the best way for me to enjoy the game now is let my sub run out. Playing on a level 20 and chromie time to gear in various expansions is so much more fun than max level.
It’s better to turn your experience off and avoid SL. Well hopefully Dragonflight fixes it and it’s still not till next spring/summer 2023. So hope we really get customization again at max level where the game is actually fun and we can create builds.
They can only do that when they fix the fact several classes and builds rely upon it.
If anything, those things make the game feel bad. It’s like the original form of borrowed power. Those levels of secondaries can’t last and will eventually be taken away, and losing them is one of the worst feelings you can experience.
Having more agency over secondary stats is good. Gems, reforging more enchants.
This was one of the strengths of MOP. We had choices thanks to sockets and reforging.
You can completely ignore secondary stat while gear progressing and be completely fine. ilvl and primary stat weighs much more heavily. In the end, it is Skill>Stats and those who blame their secondary stats for low DPS is deflecting blame.
Will min-maxing help - yes. Is it the reason why many people struggle to keep up - no.
Oh okay, so it’s another “I don’t play the game, but I know what’s best for those who do”.
if something is so integral, the core spec should be built around it without waiting for gear to scale. Looking at fire mages and how far they’ve come.
You can’t use fire mages as an example of how secondary stats effected them because they have been nerfed/“balanced” so many times this expansion.
I want primary stats to go back to like they were in MoP. Think int gave more mana, agility gave crit (well at least to bears it did.) I missed that.
Oof, is it still Sunday in some places? This sure is a hot
take.
No, he’s right. I’d prefer to not go back to the Arcanocrystal days when an item from the start of an x-pac is BIS for multiple specs because of the strength of Secondary stats.
Every tank uses Vers, some dps specs use it, and every class uses it for PvP. Just because your spec doesn’t use it doesn’t mean no one does.
It doesn’t matter if hypothetically everyone uses Versa, that doesn’t make it good for the game.
It’s not good for game design is the point. The game was better before Versa. It simply doesn’t help build diversity and gets in the way of it.
Again Versa is NOT a PvP stat. They need to bring back an actual PvP stat like Resilience again. Versa is just in the way and doesn’t fix anything.
Primary stats are very boring and don’t influence builds currently. That would be okay if we could get enough Secondary stats which is what actually creates build diversity and different talent choices.
Granted I’d like to see them become more interesting again. It was fun when Agility mattered for Crit on melee Dps etc. Or it contributed to dodge.
Nah. The game was not better when Blizzard literally had to create aura buffs like the sun well to nerf evasion. Stats like Versa can provide mitigation that smooths spikes and doesn’t have the same scaling issues having 4 different evasion stats created.
Except it factually was. Versa came out in WoD and the game was factually better before that. The pinnacle of WoW was in WotLK because it was a better designed game in every aspect compared to modern WoW. There is a reason why the last several expansions have failed massively and there is a huge call to get back to what made the game great.
Hopefully Dragonflight can really get back to the roots of core game design that made this a great game to play. Talent trees are only 1 required part of this game being good. There are a lot more that greatly influence character progression and customization. Like gems, enchants, stat options, tier sets etc… etc… Lets get back to when the game was good.
Kekw, better in every way. They’re literally making changes to WOTLK before it even comes out.
Your deflection is irrelevant. WotLK shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence as the current expansion. You can’t compare the best expansion to SL which is the worst expansion.
You need to compare this dumpsterfire expansion to BFA or other expansions that also aren’t good.
Then we need to go Pre WoD to get into the pinnacle of WoW when the game design was actually good. Which was… before … Versa. Modern WoW factually isn’t a good game, that why the majority of players don’t play it. That is why in Dragonflight they have to change everything to win back these players trust they have tarnished over the last several expansions.
Again think the Devs are making good steps in the right direction but we really need to address build diversity and customization which comes from Secondary stats/Gear options. So the bad ideas they implemented in SL need to stay there.
I’m on the side of trying to make WoW a great game again. Not sure what side you are on… you are coming off as a troll but there are a few in here.
Raid logging TBC too boring for you that you had to come make Sunday retail posts?
Look man, pressing one button rotations was too boring so he came here instead.
