I know this has probably been stated a lot in the last week, but the more players that bring attention to this issue, the more likely Blizzard will actually listen and respond.
Basically every other seal in the game can be twisted, both ways. Even in TBC CLASSIC Blood/Martyr could be twisted with SoC. Currently with DS sharing the same rune slot there is almost no reason to use SoM as DS outperforms it significantly in any cleave/aoe situation as well as single target. Allowing Seal twisting with SoM and SoC would allow it to at least be a competitive option, at least for single target encounters.

seal twisting is so obviously an unintended exploit, so… yeah. it’s not coming back
Blizz stated back in TBCC that they actually liked the interaction, Hence why they added the delay to seals for TBCC. And right now you can actually twist Martyr with Righteous, they just never added the delay to Command.

Did you seriously just read the title and ignore everything else I said?
The Devs had to intentionally code Seal Twisting to work for both Classic Era and TBC Classic after they removal of psuedo server batching. Seal Twisting exists currently now in both Classic Era and SoD, with every OTHER seal in the game.

It originally was, back in the day. But for TBC Classic, it was made deliberately. What the Paladins that want seal twisting in SoD is for the same thing to be done here, since twisting was killed in Wrath. It’s just weird, because it works with Righteousness, but specifically doesn’t work with Command. Twisting Command > Martyr is the fun one.
It really is. Though it can also be terrifying, I remember getting myself killed on Gruul in TBC because I got a perfect seal twist + Windfury. DPS spiked to the moon and Gruul took that personally.
It just allows for a lot more interactive gameplay than “Press Button off CD”
well TBCC didn’t have crusader strike and a bunch of other retail goodies
so you’re not getting seal twisting on top of that
Yeah, that’s part of the fun. I’d have the same thing happen on Void Reaver. Get a big seal twist with WF. Everything crits. And suddenly I’d be riding the tank on threat.
TBCC absolutely did have Crusader Strike.

TBC absolutely did have crusader strike, it was Ret’s capstone talent…
Why even talk on the subject when you don’t have a clue or doesn’t affect you in any way, since you clearly don’t play paladin? No investigation, no right to speak.

I forgot how retail TBCC was I guess
getting it as a capstone talent is a little different than having it handed to you as a lowbie though.
Instead they should make seal twisting an intended mechanic by making it into a rune in a later phase
Just add a rune of seal twisting that makes it so that when you use judgement your seal remains active for another ~5 seconds and isn’t removed upon activating another seal, that way paladins could maintain 2 seals at the same time and it would actually be intuitive and not rely an abusing batching mechanics unintentionally.

What do you mean how “retail” TBCC was?
Crusader Strike was always the big new talent Ret Paladins got with TBC. It was the same in original TBC too.
Paladins get quite a few new active attacks as Runes, because that’s what they almost completely lack in Vanilla. Especially the early game. The meme for Paladins was always being the AFK, auto-swing to 60 class. So, if you’re using Runes to add to a class and fill gaps, giving them some melee attacks is the obvious choice.
Nerf ret paladins. Seriously, you’re all just making fools of yourselves at this point… More so than usual.
Please take SoM and DS off the same chest piece!
Seal twisting is absolute skill based and would be awesome to be able to do it in SoD with SoM and Command
