Fix profs please

Why is the profession system a total hot confusing mess? Especially for people who have not played in ages. It makes ZERO sense and the instructions are different everywhere. Please consider getting rid of this insane system

I do feel bad for players who come back to this mess of the crafting/profession system. You can thank the minority that kept saying it needed to be made more “complex,” etc. Most players just wanted the old system: gather mats, make the stuff.

Crafting is in the best and most fun state it’s been in years. The version they had vanilla through df wasn’t even worth having, there was no value to it.

You gonna need to cite where you got that from.

it’s not, it’s pretty straight forward and u make money, not like in previous games where it was DOA after a month

Just do you daily patron orders daily and it’ll start to make sense after a week or two.

There is no way to cite that. Just look at how many are against this vs how many are for it.

It’s true, all of it..
Crafting is such garbage now unless you only play spreadsheet verison of the game… I guess if you are making money from it, great, but it is definitly not a fun or engaging system by any means..
Reagent quality, moxxie (whatever in the fresh hell that is supposed to be), optional reagents and embelishments. It is all just taking the nice simple system we had and streching it out to make it as complicated as possible.
Some people think that complicated means better, it does not, it just makes you feel better and superior when you see other people that don’t have the time or inclination to do it.
The dream would be to get the old system back with simple reagents and recipes, no quality levels or additional whozits and whatzits to attatch, make it so I can make fun toys, mounts, gear and stuff for me and my warband.
And just get rid of the trees and let me go out into the world to find the recipes and specializations that I want.

Cite me daddy. To be fair though, I’ve never really enjoyed professions other than skinning, since having to take a break from killing stuff to go gather stuff is annoying, and having to take Tailoring in order to get cloth to drop nowadays is also annoying, but what’s even more annoying than all of that, is having to go to different vendors for “knowledge points,” or wait days/weeks in order to have enough, when in the past, if you wanted to max out a profession, you could do that in a single day. You also didn’t need to acquire specific crafting gear, with different ranks on top of that, in order to be “optimal.”

Old system was better and straightforward. New system is too complicated and a mess

I think it’d be funny if there was a system where you had to remove impurities from ore, fix/sew jank leather, clean cloth etc., or even worry about people scamming you with fake ore, herbs, etc., instead of the current “knowledge” system.

It’d be funny for instance if you gathered a bunch of herbs, or bought some on the AH, and some of them randomly turned into a grey (worthless item) referred to as “misidentified herb,” but that happened less and less as you gained more skill, in Herbalism, Alchemy, and/or Inscription specifically, just like “fake ore” would occur less and less depending on your skill in smithing, mining, or jeweling.

Then you can’t really say that “most players …” can you?

I can just as easily say “most crafters LIKE the new system”.

What do you find confusing?

Old system made junk nobody wanted. New system makes gear that’s actually worth equipping. Clearly the new system is better.

I personally don’t understand how more steps and time for the same thing just a few expansions ago is better. The only thing I can understand is the meaningful/lasting gear, which it makes sense for that to require more. But food? Potions and flasks? Not only do you need way more mats now, but there’s all of this extra time and effort.

And it’s all for the same stuff we could craft a few expansions ago. You’re doing way more for less essentially.

If you don’t want to bother with making food or flasks, then buy them off the AH, where the people who do want to bother with making them are selling them.

And if you don’t want to pay for them or go through the effort of making them, then congratulations, you’re simply priced out of the market. Welcome to econ 101. You’re sitting on the far left of the demand curve and on the far right of the supply curve.

I keep forgetting I have professions to maintain. This whole weekly knowledge point management stuff isn’t exactly fun. My gold’s slowly evaporating away.

It’s not.

This is an admission you cannot read.

It’s not. Read. Don’t mindlessly hit buttons.

Please consider learning instead of asking to delete something that works well and only needs a few tweaks.
