Fix premades queueing against Pugs or BG's or subs will drop

No one who pugs wants to queue into a premade group. Fix this issue or people will leave the game.

subs wont be impacted. everyone subs for retail and just wastes time around here in offnights.

SoD and Wrath > Cata are the main games for many people that i know… they play retail for 1 month and log into classic every single day.

About the premades: yes, its annoying. While i was farming honor for rank 6, many times was better to just stay in ghost form in warsong because ally pug x horde premade, without any healers is one of the top disgusting things in this game.

The algorithm is already in. It tries to match pugs with pugs.

That is why your q times are so long, majority of the pop is premading.

You were never the majority, nobody ever even had proof of that, just kept chanting it over and over.

I play Alliance. My queue times are under one minute. My last 10 matches have been against all Horde premades. Many times, a complete premade.

I unsubbed.

Available alliance player pool.

You arent being matched vs pugs because nobody is pugging.

Alot of people are unsubbing. They arent going to change anything now. We already warned them before p2 launch

Youre saying that no Horde are pugging?

he’s saying that so few horde are pugging that the algo trips its backup pairing criteria.

I dont play Horde but if that’s true its because the algorithm is messed up and is taking solo queuers a longer time to get into a BG than premades. At least, that’s what I have heard.

A true programming foul up.

the algo only need 2-3 premades to fill, but 10-15 soloers. it’s jsut easier to fill with premades because they take up more slots.

What you have heard has been followed up with zero proof from your sources and those players. Someone just saying that because thats what they WANT to believe does not make it true. People thought the full premade q was bugged and guess what? it was not and still is not bugged and works as intended.

Mathematically, our conclusions point directly to fewer pugs than groups.

It really is just that simple. I know that is not what you want to hear, but it is what you need to hear.

healthy BGs are best left alone with no algorithms put in place. TBC already proved that and they just did it again for SOD. Game sucks. second time they tried to ā€œbestā€ vanilla and failed

I dont beleive this to be true. Why isnt it true with Alliance? I still believe the algorithm is flubbed. I have seen Horde players on these forums complain that when they single queue, they wait ages while full groups get fast BG queue pops.

That’s fine. I am not going to force you to believe it. It is not true for alliance because their players typically do not wait to be funneled into lobbies because there are much less queing adjacent to horde pop. they are two separate funnels flowing into one big funnel. However, alliance pugs are still being matched against horde premades and much fewer pugs, because of my previous post - as well as Robokappa helping outline player slot disparity between required solos to fill a lobby vs groups to fill a lobby.

I’m willing to believe it but you haven’t provided any evidence to support your position. We can only go off what we see and read.

Well it is going to be a bit difficult for you to understand seeings how you arent really grasping how the vanilla battleground q system works in the first place, and the algorithm as its secondary body.

The original BG q is meant to move as many bodies out of the ā€œwaiting poolā€ as possible. when you add an algorithm to it separating singles, small and large groups, whatever group is the majority will be seeded into lobbies first because they make up the majority waiting party, i.e. 40 pugs waiting vs 400 groups, etc - if that helps (the entire premise of vanilla que is to eliminate the top number waiting - the system will pick and move whatever groups it needs in order to axe the waiting pool, in this case premades ((solo q never waited before the algorithm on horde because there was no filter in place before p2))

If premade = green gumball

and

pug = red gumball,

and you lob these groups into a 5 gallon drum with a crank dispensor, which colors are coming out more often?

this :expressionless: how ironic

Horde use addons to queue 10 people and it works. Perfect 3 healers comps that get 0 deaths.

5 man groups should not be possible to queue with full pugs.
5 man group + 5 pugs for each side would be ok.
Full pugs x Full pugs.

ā€œBut horde queue are slowā€.
Join solo and go for a full pug bg.

Of course this is how it should work. The Horde queues will just get longer and longer as players like me abandon SoD.

the players made it clear that they want to group together.

why do we go through all these hoops to stop them from playing how they want?

Horde racials ages ahead of ally racials for pvp and because of that PVP players go for horde.
Then horde gets more fun in bgs because only a small portion of the ally plays bg and most of them only are there because of the gear, as the pvp balance is bad.
Then we have:

  • Horde have more fun in pvp but play less
  • Ally bg pop everytime but most of the time have a bad experience and makes people stop playing bg
