Fix mercenary queueing

Ideas:

  • Make a minimum ilvl requirement to merc queue so that the Alliance team isn’t flooded with horribly undergeared players.
  • Offer bonus Conquest as an enlistment bonus instead of Honor so that better geared players would actually want to merc queue.
  • Make merc queueing more accessible by putting the option to queue as a merc in the group finder menu instead of having to go to an NPC to do it.

This character that I’m posting with has disgustingly high winrates on Ashran (72%) and Alterac Valley (75%) with a lot of games played (check for yourself). My Alliance character also has many games played in epic bgs, and all 4 epics have 40% winrate or lower, as low as 25%. Both of these characters I mentioned were made during Shadowlands.

The Epic BG experience as an Alliance player is absolutely awful. It’s not a huge secret that better players are drawn to Horde, but team stacking isn’t fun in any game.

Also make a min. ilvl requirement to queue for your own faction random bgs.

Or simply remove it and avail them by that bothered of the paid faction transfer, then fashion flexile item level brackets so one who wisheth to PvP despite theyr lacking gear doth not the joy of others thither more deeply invested hampereth if such seemeth necessary.

Absolutely, I support a BG-queuing minimum item level requirement for both factions

It gets old seeing 21-24k health teammates in BGs. Simply add a basic “entry” item level requirement for BGs just like the one LFR has, problem solved.

idk… but its not rare

it’d be fair if both factions could do it at least. now its just a joke.

Everytime? Wrong. It’s been useful to me so let’s keep it.

There’s a problem with your suggestion: people don’t swap factions over random BGs

The vast vast majority of Alliance rerollers cite “my friends/guild re-rolled Horde”, “lack of good players”, or “LFG is dead” as the reasons they decided to swap.

People mostly faction change for PvE reasons, not something as trivial as random BGs :man_shrugging:

Or just bolster everyone’s ilv to 226 in random BGs.

Or all pvp gear is equal in pvp why stop at okay make pvp good again

we tried that once. nobody liked that. it was quite the riot.

I really don’t think this is the case. The line of reason merc queuers take is probably as follows:

  1. New Horde character and need to gear up
  2. Notice 15-20 minutes queue time for Horde
  3. Merc queue as Alliance because instant queues and you get more Honor per hour even with losses

The problem is people don’t play BGs to win. They play to gear alts, which is super lame for people who actually enjoy the gamemode and try.

In my experience, horde are more likely to queue on their mains.

I find randoms relaxing. Sometimes I do them after work.

No remove mercenary queuing.

??? WoD pvp was fire you’re crazy man

You might as well delete battlegrounds then or just make them horde vs horde.

Half the people on the alliance team are horde now lol.

This is the best solution for the health of the game to remove merc mode.

This is even more noticeable in the brawls - and “merc mode” can’t be used as an excuse in those (merc mode doesn’t work for brawls).

Oh yeah, making it impossible to do randoms is totally for the best. Tots.

Is this Ion’s alt?
