The mega server and sharding will be the death of classic. Its truly exceptional how good Blizz is at destroying things people love. Just like the rest of corporate America, they have completely lost touch with reality. I guarantee mega server + sharding is less expensive than regular classic servers. The sharding has all but zapped my will to play the game… Highly likely I unsub AGAIN, because Blizz sucks.
Profits > player experience

Time to get this fixed. We don’t need 50 mini layers across the world.
Blizz considers us RP-PVP’ers a minority and only listen to SOD crowd requests… We need more petition for a RP-PVP fresh progress server.

For a game that has the word “War” in the title, they really don’t seem to be allowing us to have wars… I want to group up and have wars man.
I thought the whole point of classic was no not have dumb new ideas like “layers” and “sharding”? classic in 2024 should probably listen to the fans but hey, its blizzard.

Yes please blizzard fix this layering issue!! Maybe have the pvp raids from both factions on one layer, so other players not participating can be distributed on other layers or something.
So last night I was doing an escort quest, and while having no CDs and not full HP, an alliance player killed me, and the quest failed. I was OK, fine, since it’s a PvP server, but I will make him regret it, as I will come back and search for him, and lucky I have many faps in my bags.
I ressed, looked for him for a while, and found him, and YAY killed him and decided to stealth wait to gank him But then the moment he ressed and i was about to CS him he disappeared as if he got summoned, but it was not a summon since he was in the same zone, so… HE F changed layers. This made me really mad.
WTH, this game that allows players to be in the same spot but invisible because they are on another layer, TBH layers is the most trash thing ever in classic, Layers are worse than bots/RMT.
This guy is onto sum-ting here…

Layering is possibly the worst mechanic these “new age” dev’s (aka Marketing majors) have sullied the game with, next to mob scaling and damage scaling per level.
Eventually I accepted its original intention: to deal with massive population issues very early on, but then eliminated for good at some point. Which they did in original Classic.
Later on they used it as a crux to support their megaserver obsession. That’s a problem. The game can’t be designed around layers. It’s just…a trash experience.
