In classic it just seemed to be because I was a gnome most of the time, now in TBC it doesnt seem to mattter at all. I get stuck on the stupidest little elevations that any race should just be able to walk over. On my Night Elf, Gnome, or Dwarf I get stuck on stairs, steps, rocks, mushrooms, you name it. Need evidence? Go to ruins of lorderon and try to run over\around the crypt without getting stuck on the benches that surround it. Go to Telrador and just go up the stairs that lead to any of the vendors\elevators\gryph master. Its rediculus.
Undead females have the same problem as gnomes because they seem to have a similar radius hitbox, but I mean it’s just how the older hitboxes worked before they got normalised.
If you play on a real 1.12 client or 2.4.3 the same thing happens.
So? They’ve fixed and changed plenty of stuff. There’s no reason not to fix this since it’s an obvious unintended consequence of their collision logic.
All that being said, I played ACTUAL vanilla from release all the way through until the end of WotLK and I do not remember ever getting this infuriated and screwed by tiny bumps on terrain. I would absolutely remember constantly getting stuck in Ruins of Lorderon. The only crappy thing I ever had to deal with as a gnome was swimming in shallow water, but I think we can all agree that’s just funny and doesn’t ruin the experience.
They already said they won’t be changing hitboxes though, to preserve things like Tauren hitting people through pillars, etc.
