[fix] forums are constantly filled with complaints that melee are OP - here's how to resolve it

This can be resolved with minimal effort by adding spell-lock to the DR timer and including kicks in the CC reduction effect of PvP trinkets

Currently it is possible for melee to fully lock down casters between stuns, disorients and the painfully long spell-lock timers

fixing this one issue would drastically improve WoW gameplay in the same way adding stun DR did for the game originally

before responding to this thread please consider that with a 15 second cooldown on the fastest kicks and the default 18 second timer on DR per all other CC, it is highly likely that no-one would ever experience spell-lock DR in a 1v1 situation

as such this would not drastically affect 1v1 balance (almost certainly it wouldn’t affect 1v1 at all)

Maybe blizz should just start deleting threads made by 1500 wizards saying melee are OP. That’s how they should address this

lotta melee utterly outraged at the mere suggestion it isn’t fun or balanced to be able to be blasted 100% > 0% with no control over your character XD XD

kick is the only CC not on a DR, this is a mistake and needs to be fixed asap before any more balance changes

especially now given how many pros are complaining about rogue

fix kicks and then take a look at class balance

Ofc People rage over “Melees are too op”-Threads because 90% of people in pvp ARE Melees :joy:
They all rerolled when they realized that you can climb with Melees much easier than with casters because you just auto-stick to them 24/7 and smash your face into your keyboard.
And now they got mad if someone tells the truth.

If you make a thread that caster XY is too stronk i bet you get 10 likes in 1 min.

It is imperative we remember at all times that caster weakness in pvp is a carefully designed and orchestrated psyop by Big Warlock to shoehorn casters into a position of extreme relative strength in the first season of an expansion (which hasn’t happened at the beginning of an expansion since Wrath) thereby making the power gap between Casters and Melee even more staggering in Caster favor at the end of the expansion.

If every single class in the game had a 4-6 second disarm on a 15 second cooldown that had no DR there wouldn’t be room for anything at all on the forums beside the endless avalanche of complaints from melee about the game being totally unplayable

adding DR for spell-lock is a completely balanced and sensible change to the game that would improve the quality of PvP gameplay enormously

how about instead of nerfing melee damage or utility or mobility we just fix the lack of DR on spell-lock

surely that is something everyone can get around as a totally reasonable, fair assessment of the situation

Man yeah I love when melee do full up time damage from over 10 yards away.

Imagine if casters had a 5 yard range and outside of that they couldn’t cast.

Your disarm is literally walking away and kiting melee because melee abilities require melee range.

Imagine if melee also had spammable cc like poly/fear to make space for themselves.

The bigger annoyance is CoT, mind numbing, and the dk aura that slows casting. These make it really difficult to bait kicks or even thread in casts when they dont have anything up. Just stupid long cast times.

Precog is a big help. Precog definitely feels good to proc and can change a game, but it’s not always a huge impact.

Melees don’t need rang DMG b cause they are at you EVERY MILLISECOND OF THE MATCH!

And beside if that more and more Melees can deal a ton of range dmg nowadays. Not that they would need it.
