What AB wants or didn’t want is not a patriot issue, if there was tampering then the NFL would investigate, oh and they already said they weren’t so… um yah keep enjoying your losing NFL team.
Hrm…I hate to say it but “you think you want it but you don’t” when it comes to this.
With so many realms still showing high or full most of the time if they remove layering now we will have queues running to many thousands on most every realm all of the time. I think this is probably going to be true even when the layering is scheduled to expire at the launch of phase 2.
I appreciate that folks don’t like layering, they will like empty realms and the terrible faction imbalances later on even more if we had not had it.

@ all the ppl above me. What the CM is talking about is cheaters farming raid bosses and having other people get them to change the intance layer to farm the same bosses without a raid lockout. I have heard it was mostly a problem in EU servers with guilds of players who have full MC Raid gear and more boss clears in the first few weeks than most players would have in 6 months.
The instance was always the same… but the layering allowed them to jump within layers of the same instance.
Basically ANY sane person would have thought that layering was not enabled in instances. Blizz should have caught this long ago. Blizz SHOULD have allowed testing to continue to level 60 to SEE how layering would be abused and how it effected instances.

I sure hope the devs are learning from this and banning the accounts completely. This deserves the harshest of punishments as it both ruins the economy and gives a massively unfair advantage to those who are guilty.
Layering is the worst thing about Classic… BY FAR. Delete it please.

I believe if you get disconnected during these server downtimes while you’re in an instance you have a chance at losing anything you got during the instance. I got rolled back for a piece I actually needed during my first run of the instance, just FYI to anyone worried about how you can potentially lose things.
Nah they’re removing anything they gained via those methods such as gold and things they bought with said gold.
Ontop of the 30 day ban.
So basically, they will be behind everyone when they can play again, rather than lightyears ahead.
Well, they are using the system as intended in a way.
They are using the layering so they can not deal with other players.
(Or just refarm what they just farmed)
But they are not guaranteed the mobs/veins/herbs in the new layer.
However, in a dungeon/raid, there is no other people that can come to interfere, so they are guaranteed those mobs, specifically the final boss.
I’ve seen some people abusing it but not banned yet. I was on my 34 Mage and did my first run of SM ARM on it and got a better cloak, dungeon ended and it said “15:00 until server disconnect” so I had waited inside the instance considering Alliance and Horde randomly beef out in front of SM instance entrances. Upon reconnect I spawned at a random FP with all my XP but just that piece from the dungeon disappeared. I think it was probably due to me being inside the instance during disconnect rather than outside of it, might have conflicted with their method of banning.
Well it had to do with you being in the instance.
Likely when the server saved before shutdown, it missed fully saving your character because you were in an instance.
And they haven’t banned everyone yet, they’re likely going through each character and removing all the ill gotten gains in a similar way they go through the inventory of a character doing a faction change.
Ahh wish I knew beforehand, if it was a big drop would’ve been RIP city for me but was only a few Intellect increases.

Usually its fine to logout in an instance, but with all the issues it’s likely something got lost.
As much as that would be great there’s zero chance they will ban soda as he’s even in the classic advert Blizzard made he will get a special exception due to his streamer status.
I don’t know if this fix is in. I was just in SM pickpocketing npcs. As you know once you loot them once, you can’t again. So I logged out, logged in and it let me pickpocket them again without leaving the instance. I’m assuming when I logged out and in it put me on a new layer.
Classic is a disaster. So many exploits.
The game never had a chance with this Dev Team.

What about all the recipes, enchanting mats, gold, BoEs that are now “out there”? An unnatural access to these items has done irreparable damage to the progression of the servers.
I.E., instead of 30 people on your server having a certain enchant/recipe/pattern… there are hundreds. At a time when mats are so very cheap due to noone having gold… so they cn really take advantage for later down th road
