Fix for Repeat Instance Bug Exploit

So let it be written, so let it be done.

So sayeth the shepherds!
So sayeth the flock!

I don’t understand what this bug is saying. Can anyone or blue post explain further? Is it something that allows them to go beyond the 5 resets an hour, or is it something like the ZF GY farm? I am confused.

EDIT::: never mind I saw the video… yeah bad news!

Too late the classic wow experience has been ruined by you and your terrible ideas of layering. we demanded nochanges for a reason. And now you understand why. The economy has been totally ruined because of this exploit. How do you fix that? Hmm?

It resets the instance/raid without moving you out or back to the start.

Essentially, people were sitting in front of their desired boss and resetting after every kill.

Over and over and over and over and over…

And woops looks like they should have allowed us beta testers to test it.

This is what is absolutely maddening. They know people are abusing the system, a system which is flawed and could have been written in a better manner - avoiding exploits, yet the put a band aid on the wound when there is an outcry…

If they do not remove these characters, I’ve lost all faith in blizzard. These servers allowed for new pristine economies, something wow hasn’t seen since the creation of their original servers. However, people have utilized such an easy exploit and ruined these economies.

How they handle this issue determines my subscription. I left in wrath and I’m willing to leave again.

Ban them all. Streamers, them all…

They will get a new account, because that is what their viewer want to see, WoW content, and see them come back from the perm ban. Blizzard can only profit from this, money wise and PR wise. Win, win! Winning!

If they close the account, they kind of are. They can create a new account and play again and start over.

Blizz wont do a thing other than remove a few items or reset some exp.

That would be…unwise.

Yeah it would but…this is Blizz we are talking about. I dont hold much faith in them doing anything to these people.

How dare you be reasonable about this!

Not that I am for this kind of exploit. But how is this any different that layering abuse for leveling? That has a direct impact on the player base as players are leveling faster than intended.

Layering abuse should be punishable in all aspects not just what you choose.

Safe to also assume these people have already moved gold off their characters as well just in case. Really painful to see all of this happening while I am over here grinding herbs.

Out of curiosity, who here thinks the population of Classic is high enough that Blizzard won’t really give a damn whether or not a person’s a streamer when they ban them?

This has major effects on the economy. It also effects guilds starting up as well. Difficult to pull people into a guild when they see the nice shiny one next to them waiving the goodies.

Yeah, he also kept saying “we have to do it”. No, you really don’t. You want to do it.

The exploit literally uses layering to work.

The guys voice you heard was an EX-employee of Blizzard and that was his advice. HOWEVER and actual Blizzard employee from the Classic team was in Esfands chat and gave them the go-ahead to do so. Get your facts straight.

If they don’t remove these characters, you will lost faith in Blizzard? They said they are going to take appropriate action. They aren’t going to say what they are going to do exactly for the privacy of all the people who play the game including those who took advantage of that bug. You are not going to know what they have done to those people unless one of them reaches out and openly admits to doing the bug and they share what Blizzard has done, but that would be I believe against Code of Conduct so that thread would most likely get closed before you are able to see it. So your options right now bud are… 1. You continue to play and not worry about this if you are not effected by this or 2. You unsub and move on to other things.
