You can report until your fingers fall off, you won’t stop either the farmers or the gold buyers. Just admit that the solution is the token.

I definitely see your point of view, but I think the solution is this:
A) Blizzard internally needs to respect their Classic customers as full, paying customers.
B) Hacks such as the teleport/fly hacks that provide the back-end systems required for these super exploit farming needs to be fixed server-side ASAP.

Here’s the secret: Blizzard cant detect botting and hacking when ran on a virtual machine. You know how some people run windows 10 on a mac computer? It’s the same thing essentially.
That is why blizzard relies on people to report in-game. They can’t actually detect the hacks and botters.
What they could do is sit in from of ZG / Mara and start banning people. Obviously they aren’t doing that or you wouldn’t see botters anymore. So essentially, there is botters / fly hacks and they dont care. look it up on youtube. I have watched the same people bot for over a MONTH.
so this is what you do: sit in front of zg / mara porter and farm them for honor.

The solution is Blizzard putting eyes in the game. The lack of overseeing their own game is THEIR fault and THEIR fault alone.
How absolutely scummy to let a problem perpetuate in your product so you can make money selling an item that supposedly fixes it.

Absolutely they should spot-weld hacks as they come up. Of course, they have to do this in a way that doesnt create new exploits or takes the game offline for extended periods of time, so it’s not necessarily as simple as flipping a switch.
Well… are they flying in dungeons?
Yes.
The teleport hacks and flying are being used to attack mobs thru floors and get resources instantly. There are videos on Youtube of it.

they been in stratholme for 4 months farming righteous orbs and the prices are now 4g an orb…2g above vendor price…arcane crystals 22g cause teleport to dm east veins finally got a fix but no stratholme bots with the army of mages / druid tank / priest heals…But they are still teleporting to DM north and killing king over and over u can go to dm north and see the army of hunters pathing in and out instance because they are locked…obvious bot same path…even private servers have anti fly hack / teleport yet blizzard doesn’t…lol joke mode and the aH prices have tanked on even black lotus relog herb bots on every server thats why hardly ever any black lotus 's up.

Just quarterly value classic is making around 45 million to 55 million a month. They can and should take Care of bot problems before it backfires on them. That’s a low ball number I have a feeling it’s about 102 million with the Chinese market buying gold.

this is probably a bad idea but ill throw it out there. what about region/ping locking the game so only people within the region would be able to play
Because fixing it involves a lot of lag and extra server load probably.
If every time someone’s character moves the server has to authorize that move, that dramatically increases the amount of work for the server to do.
Of course they could have client side verification in a patch. But that would require an actual patch cycle to push out, as they would have to go through the entire game world defining out of bounds areas for the client to check itself against.
Or have a GM watch zones where we know they are doing it and wipe out a few hundred everyday. Guarantee they would try something else.

Any hack in classic is useable in retail since they run off the same game engine.
Since they can’t detect the hack there is only one reason why they haven’t fixed it left;
- There is a major exploit that allows people to circumvent Warden cheat detection, which is Activision’s homebrew cheat detection for all of their games
This isn’t just a classic wow issue anymore, it’s an “Activision, your entire company is the laughing stock of the gaming industry” issue.
Fly hacking first appeared well over 8 months ago.

Depending on automated systems don’t work, as everyone can see.
Get EYES in the game. This is ridiculous.
Probably because theyre afraid to dig into the code and break 5 other things when they change that thing.

Even if that’s true, there’s much less incentive for them to do so because they cant sell gold for cash on retail - everyone who wants to buy gold has legitimate channels to do so. The only way to kill a black market is starvation.
