Today I received a quest item from Island Expeditions. It was a Venture Co. Business Plan that required me to go to Ratchet and turn it in. No problem.
I take the convenient portal to Orgrimmar, and I fly south towards Razor Hill as flying backwards to the Flight Path to Orgrimmar didn’t make sense to me.
I take the flight path from Razor Hill to Ratchet, and lo and behold, the flight path takes me back to Orgimmar and then to Ratchet.
Razor Hill FP was added in Cata.
Before then it did not exist.
And since Razor Hill was a low level (5-10) zone prior to scaling, they only connected it to Org.
The garrison flight paths are mind boggling bad. Upfront, obvious, in your face known issues that have been left in game for years.
Reminds me of SOE and SWG. One of the best and worst games IMHO, because half the battle was working around how buggy the game was. Played on the test servers and we’d report big glaring bugs, dev’s would acknowledge them and the bugs would still get pushed to live. At that point they’re not bugs, they’re a conscious decision to make an inferior game.
It my not affect game play, but it’s kinda of like zero tolerance, you let the little things go unresolved like broken windows, tall grass, and graffiti and pretty soon the whole neighborhood goes to hell.
It reminds me a lot of how the flight paths were in early BfA beta - you’d fly in a direct line regardless of the terrain ; so through water, hills, mountains, buildings, etc. Thats exactly how it is leaving the Alliance garrison. I’m guessing its a flight point bug that they just haven’t bothered to fix for whatever reason.
yes it doesnt make much sense that the flight paths from razor hill go to orgrimmar first, i have hearthstone to razor hill/goldshire instead of the capitals because they lag too much in there, although recently discovered that the button “num lock” can make you autofly on your own mount (or autowalk) which makes flight paths kinda obsolete in the areas that allow flying since your own mount is faster and goes one direction and not limited to specific locations
